Finished Starfield today. Some of those missions were genuinely some of the best Bethesda designed missions I’ve played. Enjoyed it overall. Definitely nothing groundbreaking, just a pretty good Bethesda RPG

 

I thought Gotham Knights was already on Gamepass at one point? Did it leave and come back or is this the first time?

Starfield: still need to do Crimson Fleet and Vanguard questlines, I read the latter is the best so I'm saving it for last.

I've basically maxed my ship building skills so now I'm getting into modding space suits and weapons.

There's so much shit to do in this game. I haven't even touched the companion quests (aside from Sarah my wifey's)

I might want to finish the main quest at some point just to see but not actually proceed to NG+

Just started this game on GamePass since it’s leaving soon. It’s fun so far.

 

Started playing Melvor Idle as a set-and-forget idle game, really neat little game!

I guess Factions is dead because someone really wanted to be a Hollywood star. Oopsie.

 

Maybe I'm not connecting some dots here, but the article seems to be saying that it's because of some negative internal review at Bungie, no? And they diverted resources from Factions as a response to that?

Although I don't know or remember what the negative review at Bungie would be about.

Help me fill in the blanks, what am I missing?

Everyone wants a Fortnite or GTA Online sized hit in that space but we just haven’t seen that replicated and probably won’t again (at least not one on that level of success) until Rockstar does it again with 6

 

Destiny was incredibly successful, don’t get me wrong, but it seems like they lost a lot of goodwill with their player base

Part of the reason why Bungie thinks they can do a lot of this stuff is because historically speaking, their community has always given them a pass. When Bungie deleted a hundred page thread from a community member who criticized their handling of Halo 3's weapon balancing and then made fun of them in their weekly update, they were given a pass. When they released Reach with the least amount of maps in the entire franchise and completely botched its design of bloom, they were given a pass. When Bungie started removing entire expansions people paid for from Destiny 2, they were given a pass.

It's just an escalation of what they think they can get away with. If they're finally losing goodwill with their playerbase, they deserve it. But it's also like 15 years overdue.
