For the record the generic Kendrick and Cole would have been better lol Except for Skepta most of these songs kinda suck

Also traditionally they had, broadly speaking, a mix between East Coast classics and (semi) underground West Coast rap, which was a better formula than whatever they used to pick the new songs. My guess is there wasn’t nearly as much thought put into it this time around though.

 

I wish they would have just kept the original soundtrack as is with no additions, but I get it

 

I love this game and I will enjoy for a long time, BUT I can’t shake the feeling that this was made by highly skilled professionals that have a lot of respect for THPS, but not much more than that (which is not a diss), whereas the original run THPS games were made by people that were making loveletters to the skateboarding subculture. The stories out of Neversoft certainly made it feel that way.

 

Do they not have rappers like Cannibal Ox and Aesop Rock on the tracklist still? Would be a bummer for me.

Drug Church has a great handful of tracks I think would fit the bill perfectly as well.

 

Immortals looks cool. Maybe a bit too hack-and-slashy, but I'll give it a chance. Looks like a mash-up of BOTW and Fable.

Honestly I'm more concerned with how it's going to hold back the entire generation of third-party games than whether or not it qualifies as fully "next-gen" (it doesn't)
