ive been reading starfield hype threads on resetera and they said apparently todd said in an interview he was influenced by rdr2 for starfield, now some of the industry people making vague comments on their playthroughs on twitter may have cross referenced that idea. no one knows what it will meaningfully be obviously.

 

jumping back into Gotham Knights, still can't get the combat timing right and the grappling/traversal feels a bit clunky, but also liek oh my gawrsh I'm playing as Barbara friggin Gordon.

(surprisingly the Batcycle is fine, driving the Batmobile in Arkham Knight was a fucking nightmare.)

I loved the first trailer I saw. I was immediately enamored with the world. I thought I read somewhere they were only doing that one game because their real passion is animation, but I hope that's not true because I'd love to see another game from them.

Player’s Log:
I finished the World Tour mode (story mode) in Street Fighter 6. It was amazing. But…wtf was that ending lol. Totally unhinged.

 

Most maps are in menus or separate from the game world itself. If something is diegetic, it means it's part of the actual game world. So think of something like Far Cry 2. When you press the dedicated map button or key, your character physically pulls out a map and gps to look at. So you can move amongst the world without being stuck in a menu.

RDR2 dedicates itself to realism, some would say to a fault. But its map is an exception. It's still in a menu even though the game would have been better had it been an actual in game item, depending on its implementation of course.

 

Hm. Kind of an interesting idea, I guess, although I have a hard time picturing it. I feel like a map big enough to be useful isn't the kind of thing you would be walking around looking at. I've never played Far Cry 2, so I don't know how it works in that game.

 

Far Cry 2's map has 3 different modes. One that shows the whole map, another that shows the region the player is currently in, and the last is only accessible in outposts or towns. Switching between them is super quick. Knowing Rockstar, they probably wouldn't have made it that intuitive, but I wish they tried anyway. I'd rather spend more time in the game world instead of a menu.

 

Caught a sneak peak and i thought it was awesome. Well paced, exciting, great driving scenes, suprisingly emotional at times, and overall a solid flick. It'll probably struggle, but i think it'll end up with good word of mouth, and/or have legs, or be a a big streaming hit.

 

anyone selling a used graphics card? maybe a 3080 or 3090?

 

Not me personally no, but I strongly urge everyone to get any sort of GPU buying out of their system asap as there seems to be another shortage coming sooner rather than later because all wafers are being used to make AI stuff.
