How often do developers outsource their games like that. I can see it with say CoD since they crank those out often but I can’t imagine ND outsourcing parts of TLOU or Uncharted.

 

Outsourcing some things isn't unheard of, but it's definitely a case by case basis. However, a "significant portion" is just strange when it's supposed to be an important first party game. Those games usually are meticulously crafted and are overseen very careful. This sounds like horrible mismanaging.

 

getting the Hammer and Chisel weapon in Mortal Shell definitely improved my experience, just went through an insanely long area and beat the boss.

I love the aesthetic, there is a fantastic game in here but it's locked behind some pretty awful mechanics and it's just so fucking buggy at the moment. One of my attempts on this boss, I lost the ability to attack. Hitting the buttons just wouldn't do anything. That's been a consistent issue with parrying. I thought it might be my controller but I plugged in an older one and was still having the issue.

Do you ever use apps like Netflix, HBO, Youtube.TV, Hulu on PS? You can't make shortcuts and have to go scroll and load to get to them. There's just so much unused space on PS with the horizontal scroll. Should be more customization at least.

The parrying window could be more lax, I agree.

I’m struggling to pick a favorite weapon, I really like the Martyr’s blade but it’s special does no damage (it just freezes an enemy in place, which is useful for crowd control but bad at bosses)

The hammer and sickle is a little too basic for my tastes haha

 

Im basic as hell, the hammer salvaged this game for me. Combined with the tank shells kill streak buff, it’s great.

And I have to emphasize that I have no issue with the parry timing (well sort of, it does seem off) it’s the fact that the input is so janky that I almost never even do the animation to attempt it. I could be standing still and hitting L1 and my character will rarely ever actually do it.

 

haha I can't speak to that, but it feels frustrating to get the parry right on a lot of attacks.

I think I am going back to the hub now to experiment with more shells, I am running the guy with the skull for a head right now (I forget his name) but his health a is a little too much on the low side and only 2 bars of resolve is a bit of a piss take haha

 

It happens all the time. Everyone does it. The problem here obviously wasn’t the outsourcing itself, but something that has gone wrong related to the outsourcing.

 

Yeah it’s a mess

 

There used to be customizable, but they wanted the ad money and a bunch of other stuff. Like now Disney + is the first thing on the list and you can't move it, but things like YouTube, twitch, Funimation, Crunchyroll, etc, they're all on the end of the list and they always get shuffled around or taken off the list and you have to go find them.

It's dumb and annoying.

I just did such a colossally dumb thing in Mortal Shell I don't think I am ever going back to that game lol

I used up all my glimpses by using the mask and ended up teleporting in place.
I had like 25.

I wanted to leave the boss area to go back to the main hub, but you can't backtrack manually and I got tired of trying the boss because I don't have the patience rn.
