actually it's mostly used for shadows and more correct bounce lights for global illumination.

I watched a video last night that was showing the Witcher 3 upgrade and was like 'You could either run the game at a beautiful, consistent FPS or you can cut your frames in half and look at the reflections in the water!'.

 

Raytracing is kinda overrated, idk. Not worth it.

 

Seems SO overrated, especially on consoles.

 

Everything beyond 1080/60 is nice to have but overrated. The biggest potential exception to that rule is 120 fps, depending on the game.

I'm playing Yakuza Kiwami 2 and that shit is locked in at 30 FPS and it is weird as fuck

 

Game is fun as fuck though, it’s on the dragon engine and has ragdoll physics
