Player's Log: Tales of the Abyss (3DS)

My second Tales of game. Luke is such an annoying protagonist. His name often comes up when discussing characters in JRPGs with good character arcs so I'm waiting to see it. I think I just reached the event that can be considered the catalyst.

Also there was a scene that made me go "damn, seriously??" which doesn't happen very often with videogames. Basically this kid was stuck on a rock in the middle of this sea of miasma which is this poisonous substance and was like "help! mommy, daddy...it hurts!" and the party was just watching unable to help and the kid sank beneath the surface and died lol.

I also don't really know what I'm doing in combat (happened with Vesperia too) but I'm still having fun.

 

Pre installed HoL last night

 

The Tales games are so hit and miss with it's characters and combat. I need to check this one out.

My favorite is Berseria because it kind of bucks the trend and tries a few different things. I like the whole story being from the other side instead of playing the hero.

 

Players Log: finished challenge 4 for the 12 days of Christmas.
New challenge: get 5 achievements in a game marked as “cloud”. I will be using (no judgement please) Pupperazzi.

 

Luke’s arc is one of the best. Hold strong through his annoying phase haha

 

Imagine bringing this up again, after someone literally mentioned how uncomfortable it made them.

Dinkum is the shit. It's a perfect blend of Stardew and Animal Crossing. If the name wasn't so terrible it would probably be more popular. I know it's Australian slang, but how many people are going to tell their friends they spent an entire weekend playing Dinkum?

 

EZA did a pretty neutral review and also had access to those chapters. They weren’t gushing about it but said it was good.

I’ll pick it up when it’s on sale down the road. Isn’t it also a timed exclusive?

 

Yeah but apparently you can get it on the xbox Windows store page considering the fact that it won’t be on Xbox itself til 2025 the latest if I’m not mistaken

 

Final Fantasy pixel remasters have been rated for Switch and PS

 

Disc PS5’s are available on PlayStation direct (non-bundle versions too) right now if anyone is looking for one.

 

Player's Log: 3000th Duel.

I finished this game this morning. Can't even begin to imagine whether I would've beaten it without cheating, but at any rate, I'm glad I got to play through the whole thing.

Got 45 of 59 achievements. The ones I didn't get either involve multiple playthroughs or beating bosses without getting hit, neither of which I'm doing.

Then there was one achievement for collecting a particular sword which only drops from a handful of enemies. I tried to grind for it but eventually gave up, because I don't have time for this nonsense.

Anyway, I'm now downloading some games in my A column to blow through. Not sure which one I'll choose first though, although I'm leaning toward this game:

Challenge 6: Spell COOKIE using the first letter of every achievement. It brought me back to this ridiculous game.

 

the story of fire emblem three houses is getting realllly good. starting chapter 11 of the edelgard route and feel like a huge turn just occurred.

 

Not only do I own this game, I've even actually played it. I remember it being addictively fun.
