if someone still hasnt played Witcher 3, is it worth playing over something like AC Valhalla? kinda seem similar imo

 

Witcher 3 blows Valhalla out of the water, and I really like Valhalla.

Kinda biased as Witcher 3 is pretty much my favorite game of all time.

 

Valhalla is like Taco Bell and Witcher 3 is like actual Mexican food

I will say Witcher 3 peaks early and stumbles towards the end, but it is a great game regardless

Just got Witcher GOTY for 10 bucks on steam yesterday, bet your ass i’m gonna play it now

 

Buy a used PS4 copy on disc, you’ll save a few bucks and you’ll get the PS5 upgrade for free.

 

story, characters, side quest quality, pretty much everything you could grade games on favor Witcher 3 by a landslide

Valhalla is a decent turn you brain off and mindlessly clear out the map kind of game, just like all the modern Ubi stuff. Witcher 3 is a game i’ve put hundreds and hundreds of hours into over multiple play throughs and will play again when the next gen version is out.

 

I can’t wait for the next gen Witcher 3 upgrade to drop

 

watching lots of videos of it i felt like i could see through the cracks in its design and felt it wasnt as immersive or deep as consensus suggests but i guess i really should just buck up and try it

 

no fucking idea why the “next gen” version is taking so long when the new consoles are straight up PCs anyways

 

I'm playing Valhalla atm and enjoying it just as much as Witcher 3

 

I mean if you’re going out of your way to find flaws in it I guess that might be true, but pretty much anyone who’s played it and enjoys open world RPGs will tell you it’s one of the best games of all time. Combat is maybe a bit clunky but it’s never been an issue for me.

in the spirit of my original comparison, do you think any games of the same genre since Witcher 3 have come close to it?

 

Valhalla is a great game and it looks beautiful

You can definitely see the cracks if you know what to look for, especially the NPCs, it is kind of a puppet show
