Hahaha great news to be honest. Square had no idea what do with those studios and they will producing way more interesting content as a result.

Wow, I absolutely loved everything about the Guardians of the Galaxy game. Did I remember reading somewhere that it didn't do well enough to get a sequel? That would be a fucking shame

 

The rights for the sequel are now with Embracer group, but Disney needs to approve the rights transfer, so at this point a sequel is in jeopardy either way.

That said, yes, Square Enix' western branch managed to underperform with every title they've ever put out. No one knows how/why.

 

They make solid games, they typically are marketed poorly though

 

Avengers tho

 

Avengers was a good campaign wrapped around a live service model no one wanted or cared for, I don’t think any amount of marketing was gonna save that game. It’s a shame too because the game had so much promise in certain areas that would’ve excelled if the game was developed in better hands.

Got Bloodstained on sale, know nothing about it aside from that Aurora is a playable character, and as you all know by now, I fucking love Child of Light. Good to have another Metroidvania after finishing Hollow Knight (and gaining a deeper appreciation for it despite its difficulty, but that's beside the point).
