And when EA "announced" they're working on remasters of beloved games my first thought was Sims 3 then I realized I'm probably in the minority who thought that lol

Is anybody getting R6 Quarantine? That DLC looked kinda naff to me. To have a full game of that seems...odd...

I think it looks quite calming. Interested to see what folk here think considering it’s a lot of travel like erm, that Western game everybody loves...

Witht RDR2, its clumsiness seems to be through developer ineptitude, and not because it was meticulously crafted to be, uhm, annoying to play.

whereas Death Stranding is "annoying" on purpose.

but at the end of the day it is still annoying.

Review: Death Stranding (Sony PlayStation 4) - Digitally Downloaded

"Death Stranding does belong in an art gallery more than it does sitting on consoles next to more traditional "games". As I sit here to write this, I am fully convinced that there are going to be plenty of reviews from my peers that veer to the other extreme with their scores. And fair enough, because as a “game” Death Stranding doesn’t do much. But as a work of art, Death Stranding is something mesmerising, intelligent, and powerful, and we never see genuine art within the big budget, blockbuster space. That alone makes it a rare treat to play, and I rather like this new-look, independent Kojima."

^That right there is the problem with many video game critics. They don't respect video games as an art form. Gameplay and interactivity is part of the artistic process in this medium. Not only that, it's the most important part of it. Until these critics fucking accept that, I won't take their reviews seriously.

I'd argue on the contrary that some times video game critics see art where there isn't any. Just because something is mired in tedium does not inherently make it artistically more valuable. (not saying that that's the problem with Death Stranding, as I haven't played it yet).

I think a mainstream game (which this still is) with bad gameplay deserves to be criticized because of it, artistic intent or not. Also not saying it is bad by the way, just in general.

True. But I don't actually try and anger people here. I just forget that other people's opinions on games can anger people.
