It seems insignificant but little things build up and snowball into big things down the road. Saying it's no big deal may seem like the obvious reaction now, but it's sort like frog in a boiling pot scenario. Eventually these kinds of things just keep getting normalized until nobody is left that remembers what really happened and then the fake history becomes the real history.
