It’s really a good one though, especially for co-op

 

I really loved the story in Gears 1 and 2....I’m still not sure how I really really feel about where they took it in 3. The big deaths was devastating of course, but I think after all the build up and massive war in Gears 2, I was a little thrown off by the suddenly ‘were not two organized armies anymore because we’re living primitively’ thing, even if it does make sense considering how Gears 2 ended.

I liked the whole Azura/Adam thing and finding out more COG secrets, but the dues ex machina ending was a little...meh.

 

Also gears 1 came out my freshman year in college, and the first night my buddies got it we stayed up in their dorm until like 7 in the morning playing the campaign haha

 

God damn the DQ11 story is just as good the second time

It’s really weird how some parts of the internet are so determined to tear down esports. I saw some notable gaming personality who was trying to pit two games against each other and then slander one of them.

 

The biggest problem esports has is that the whole boom is kinda of a bubble when you look at it. I honestly don’t see how something like OWL can be sustainable, it’s cool to see it in action but I honestly doubt its long term potential.

 

My gf got me to re-download Pokemon Go in a jokey ‘wonder how different it is now’ kinda move. We’re obsessed now. In like a week I’ve gone up 18 ranks, we launch out of bed in the mornings to go for a quick walk to a nearby raid, she’s picked matching outfits with me and we trade gifts and Pokemon daily. Last weekend we were on the roof of a massive mall fighting Mewtwo with dozens of other cars parking alongside us to join in. It seemed like all of Japan was doing the same thing haha.

I know nothing of Pokemon outside the first 151 Pokemon, so catching any of them outside of that is exciting.

Pleasantly surprised how what I’d initially dismissed as a dumb little distraction has become something we bond over.

 

yeah Pokémon Go is actually really fun except right now Niantic made some really dumb changes that have killed a lot of enthusiasm for the game.

Also they have some things that are small improvements that could improve the game a bunch.

 

I’m also really enjoying the MediEvil demo. As it’s the tutorial, my first run left me a little underwhelmed as I spent most of it reading the books dotted about with hints. Playing through it properly (with the exclusive helmet to increase difficulty) reminded me why I loved the original so much.

I went into Bloodborne with the mindset that it was a next-gen MediEvil. Playing the new game almost reaffirms that notion to me, that it plays quite similarly and it’s actually a decent difficulty. It’s no pushover and I’m excited for the challenge. Love the gameplay, the gothic artstyle was always fucking fantastic, and the soundtrack was second to none. Glad to see they’ve kept a lot of the original and done a good job of re-recording where necessary.

My only schtick is that I wish they’d kept more of the OG sound effects. I can hear them in my head but it’s just not the same.

 

As someone who loves anything and everything Pokémon
