Don't forget the Dreamcast

 

dreamcast did not have very many games and the sonic games there were the beginning of the end

 

Dreamcast 2 is going win next gen

Completely agree. The amount of games that came out of that era that have stood the test of time is unbelievable.

 

There was a lot more creativity back then imo, so many styles and mechanics were in play.

 

I think that generation is the cutoff. Everything before then wouldn't really hold up in the modern day. There are some exceptions, but even those have flaws that weren't considered flaws when they were released.

The sixth generation was on some next level shit to be honest. It still has some of the greatest games ever made that actually hold up against the best of today's games.

My personal favorite is the Xbox, or as I like to call it, the Cultbox.

That was even still the case about halfway into the next gen. The main reason a lot of that stopped is skyrocketing development costs.

 

I don’t know I think a lot of SNES games do really hold up

 

the only sports games that matter tbh

 

SNES games hold up better than 64 games

 

Gamecube has Pokémon Colosseum/XD so GameCube is the best

 

Yeah that’s what I mean. Only a few N64 games hold up. Mario 64 is still amazing. The Zelda games are too, though they’re better on 3DS.

I maintain that, just in terms of timelessness and quality of the games, the SNES is probably the greatest console of all time.

 

The greatest console is the 3DS

My 3DS has the 3D part broken and I really couldn't care less because it was painful to use
