I liked it but never want to go back to it. I’ve been apathetic to every game I’ve bought this year.

 

I liked games more last gen than now but I also don’t want to play a last gen throwback game

 

this is the best gen since ps2 fite me

 

I gave RDR2 several shots and I have no idea how people made it through that whole game. I have never played anything on that scale that is even remotely so aggressively tedious.

 

Personally I think, excluding Nintendo, this has been the worst gen for AAA games ever

If it had fast travel I’d have finished. The trek to the camp to get a mission is so tedious.

 

I finished RDR2 but I was really happy to be done with it lol

 

Don’t get me wrong, there have been great games, but they were mostly refined follow ups (sometimes only spiritual successors) of great 369/PS4 gen games. The rest has mostly been aggressively mediocre TO ME.

The last time I gave it a shot I just ended up shutting down my Xbox in the middle of searching a fucking drawer in the game. I just can’t.

The only game I could be hyped for this year is if Ubisoft makes a Splinter Cell in the vein of Chaos Theory. Sure, that doesn’t sound like the type of game they’d make in 2019, but if it has a huge MP that is meant to take off like Rainbow Six, then I could see that subsidizing development of a Chaos Theory style single player. Ugh I hope that’s what’s happening. Clint Hocking (SC1 designer, CT creative director and FC2 Director) has been back at Ubisoft for years and we still don’t know what he’s working on. Please be this.

 

The only game I could be hyped for this year is if Blizzard finishes StarCraft Ghost and puts it out on GameCube

 

If I would have to bet I’d say Splinter Cell is probably happening

 

The game I'm most excited about right now is Persona 5 The Royal


Other than that, it's mostly Switch games lol. Give me all the Rune Factories

Yeah same, unless Gears 5 is happening this year I might only be buying Switch games lol

 

That first Splinter Cell was one of the most memorable gaming experiences I ever had
