after playing the division 2 demo this past weekend, i'm actually kinda stoked. i think i'm going to purchase the division 2 over anthem. i still have anthem thru subscription so i have some time left to try end game but the loot drops are still meh

 

God of War, hands down.

Definitely one of my stand out games for indies. It's just so cleverly designed and the soundtrack and audio cues are top notch. It's also a game that could easily be expanded upon with DLC that doesn't feel cheap or gimmicky.

 

How roguelike is it?

 

Not very? The levels aren't procedurally generated and if you die the checkpoint system is really snappy and brings you immediately back to the beginning of the section you were on. It's just a nice artistic game with a wonderful art style, clever mechanics and a bunch of ape related bloody violence.

 

I’m still v bitter the return to Arkham collection doesn’t have origins because I’m generally interested in completing all of them.

 

Arkham Origins is one of the most unfairly-maligned games of the last several years. That thing was a ton of fun and had great writing/performances. People just went into it with knives out because it wasn't made by Rocksteady and because Conroy/Hamill weren't involved. Such a shame. I will always die on the Arkham Origins hill.
