The biggest problem for me with the Destiny series is that the gameplay is super tight and fun, but everything surrounding it is usually such a bore or a chore.

 

sounds like Bungie is stoked about the separation and I hope that it makes Destiny better, because there's definitely a fun game somewhere in there

Always amazed by the vitriol here directed at Schreier, who is undeniably the industry’s best journalist. Dude was minutes away from breaking 2019’s biggest story in games so far and tweeted out a heads up that it was incoming. Journalists do that.

 

It's just me, man. We've discussed my viewpoint on Jason in this thread many times. He's a known leaker, a fueler of fires and a condescending and egotistical guy. I didn't say he was a bad journalist. He's good at writing facts and digging deep, but everything else I want nothing to do with.

Good. Glad they split. I hope bungie can really focus on making Destiny better. The pieces are there for something great. I’ve had some truly amazing times playing with friends in that game and would love to be sucked back in.

Real happy about this. I've been playing Destiny fairly consistently since the first beta up until a week or so ago and there's been some really big highs and very frustrating lows. The world design, gun play, sounds, visuals, mechanics, and feel of the game in general are phenomenal for the FPS/MMO game they've built. There's a lot of QoL patches that needs to happen right now in terms of balancing, quests/bounties, matchmaking, competitive PVP, etc, but I'm very happy activision is out of the picture and they can now succeed or fail on their own and aren't forced into the Main game > dlc > expansion > main game cycle anymore. "Guardians make their own fate." and all that.

Just made it to Skyhold in inquisition. Game seems to have opened up even more. Getting overwhelmed with all the options and stuff to worry about lol

 

I mean he also tweeted they are dead, which given reality was not only factually wrong but also kind of irresponsible to do.

Jason knows a lot of people that leak stuff to him. Big whoop. Granted it says more about video games media than him that “we” celebrate someone for passing his journalism 101 class.

He’s also snarky and a pretty bad and somewhat unfair critic imo.

i skipped Destiny and I haven’t even played any bungie game (I used to not have good internet connection) but for some reason I’m excited lol.

Also ME1 is dope. the first time I played it didn’t click, but then I took another swing with a different class and just got so hooked. the story is great and reminded me a lot of firefly

 

the first 3 halo’s shaped my gaming upbringing big time, 2 was the first game I ever played online. However I haven’t had an Xbox since like 2012 and haven’t played a halo since reach, and never bothered to try destiny
