Also don’t be mad at the pissed off employee for leaking the scenes (if that’s what happened), be mad at anyone amplifying them. If the scenes were just on the internet somewhere where you had to go looking for them to see them, that’d be fine because it would be easy to avoid. People re-posting them or whatever are the real problem here.

Fans acting like they can't survive this. Lol. We're in the middle of a pandemic but okay.

 

Imagine pushing yourself to near or past the breaking point for months on end to get that game out on time for its hard May release date (a date that had to be met because the game had already been delayed). Imagine the hours you spent away from family, the loss of personal time, working on the weekends, etc. Now imagine that, at the eleventh hour, with the game basically ready to go gold, they delay it indefinitely. That May date that was so goddamn important that you had to work yourself ragged to meet it? It was all bullshit. You could’ve taken your time, as much time as needed, apparently. You could’ve had a normal life for the last 9-12 months. It was all for nothing.

Yeah idk about anyone else here but I for one would be pissed the hell off. That delay was a slap in the face to every employee that sacrificed their well-being for Sony and ND’s bottom line.

Tell that to the people who crunched to get it out on time. Tell them it’s no big deal, they should just get over it. I’d love to see you do that, truly.

 

Having worked in the industry and with people currently in the industry, I'm pretty comfortable with what I've said.

Things suck sometimes, but delays happen. It's part of the job. Also this pandemic is unprecedented for the industry and physical sales are incredibly important to them, publishers, brick and mortars, marketing, etc. There's a lot of moving parts.

 

Well I hope those physical sales wind up being worth it lol ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Animal Crossing sold 1.88 million physical copies in Japan in the first three days of its release, but we shouldn't care about physical sales, right? They're clearly insignificant.

Digital sales are huge for games now more than ever, they can even tower over physical sales, but that doesn't make physical sales unimportant.

Also for the record, fuck Sony’s physical sales, they aren’t more important than respecting the sacrifice that those employees made to get the game out by May. All delaying it at the last second does is tell those people “All that crunch you did was for nothing, it didn’t need to happen, we could’ve set the release date months later from the start and been fine with it.”

And for the record one more time, that sacrifice was totally unnecessary, both prior to the pandemic and after it.

So, I've been giving NieR: Automata another shot. I still think the hyperbole is out of control, but I also admit that I have been way too harsh. It's a cool game. Also the weird side scrolling sections kind of made me want a new Pandemonium game.

 

Top 3 this gen. The 3rd playthrough is my fav.

also I love the shmup sections and configuring your chipset lol

 

One of the coolest things about this game is how messing with the support chips can turn the combat system into this weird automated attack system. It's so weird yet smart.

There's way too much running around in areas that become boring after 30 seconds though.

 

Yeah the low quality of the environments due to a lack of budget might be my only complaint regarding N:A

 

NieR Automata is a top 5 of all time for me

and apparently it was a payment dispute with the Naughty Dog employee, which I don't blame them at all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

I saw some of the spoilers and I don’t think I want TLOU 2 anymore.

 

Read the LOU2 leaks. Can’t believe I waited 7 years for this. Story is straight trash, geez what was naughty dog thinking.
