anyone got the beta?

 

Finally finished Giant Bomb’s GOTY deliberations. That final episode was pretty hilarious. Poor Brad.

 

I've only listened through day 3, excited to dive into the last two.

That being said, while I like the new format, I think I could have gotten by just listening to the last two. The first three days don't really add much.

 

Yeah, I was kinda thrown off by it as well. It does provide context though.

 

It does, but if you listened to both podcasts for the year, it's all pretty redundant. By the middle of day three I was fast forwarding though games I have no interest in playing.

 

Done with act two in far cry 4. story is getting good

 

Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition is $13 on the PlayStation store rn

I picked it up over the summer on sale for about that price but haven’t played much. Probably what I’ll get into after finishing the RDR epilogues

 

I just realized EZA haven’t done a GOTY’s yet...

 

I think the new Giant Bomb GOTY format is terrible and corny. I don’t know what’s happening to them but their new hires have definitely changed the tone, which would normally be fine but it’s weird for a site like Giant Bomb that was founded around a few core characters. Austin also changed some things when he was there, but unlike the new hires he is a great critic (although Waypoint isn’t great in my opinion, he was better at GB where the others grounded him a little).

 

God damn Horizon's such a great game. Was really wishing for more DLC after the Frozen Wild

 

Just curious why you think it have to do with new hires? Specifically Ben and Abby?

 

I'm listening to it now, I'm on Day 2. I like the format, but I really did not appreciate them trying to shut Abby down when she talked about representation in God of War

 

Eh, I get what you're saying, they should have let her speak her mind without being dismissive, but I don't agree with what she said. I'm team Vinny on this one.

 

Also, they need to merge best looking and best style. These conversations comparing the two are so tiring.

 

I broke my promise to not buy any new games for a bit and bought Battlefield V because it was really cheap, it's pretty fun

 

After listening to all 5 days I did end up liking the new format. I think less categories meant they did end up repeating themselves less. And the first 3 days were a good opportunity to talk about games that didn’t necessarily fit into any category.

Also love Ben and Abby so I don’t agree with that take at all.

 

I mean, it started then imo, so yeah. It’s nothing personal.

 

Xbox or PlayStation?

 

I went with Xbox for it, something about playing FPSs on that XBO controller just feels right hahaha

Sounds good! I’m in flight school so my hours are pretty similar. I’m either home by 9 am or free after like 4! If you notice the game being a little rough on the eyes/weird visually, try altering these settings. I have everything as shown here except I kept the vignette. First game doing it I went 28 and 7 haha
