far cry 4 is dominating my fucking life. I want to jump right into 5 after I’m done but I know I should play a different game in between so I don’t get burnt out. So either odyssey or origins is up next

 

Yes, it is quite good. Short and interesting. I think I play through it twice because I missed some stuff and was curious.


Also, beat Red Dead 2's campaign (minus epilogue) and MAN what a game. One of my favorite experiences in video games of all time. Haven't lost steam on it once, it's been a joy.

Im really quick to shit on Ubisoft but then I remember that Rainbow Six Siege is one of the best games of all time imo

100% agree, and it’s hard balancing open world game design with linear-based storytelling. Don’t think they succeed, but they’re the closest to getting it right. There’s always years to come with that, hopefully

edit: I restarted hollow knight this past week while I was home visiting family for the holidays because I remember being pretty lost when I last played, and I loved it so much more and it was maybe one of my favorite gaming experiences of the year.

Started AC Origins and I am shocked at how good it is. I was obsessed with the early AC games, 1, the ezio trilogy, and 3, but the series fell off a cliff after that.

Origins runs great, controls great, and the combat doesn't feel like a neverending stream of counters and finishing moves. And holy shit is it overwhelming. I just got past what I guess would be the intro to the game, and it's hard to accept just how big everything is.

 

I did a whole run through looking for that last one and STILL didn't get it. Gave up and will go back at some point AGAIN to try haha
