The Silver Islands questline in AC Odyssey is so awesome

 

Goldeneye has a terrible weapon sandbox and mediocre level design. Throw it in the trash.

Perfect Dark can stay though. It's still pretty solid.

Goldeneye was the shit back in the day as a kid. But I mean Quake and Doom were already established franchises before it came out. And then it was completely left in the dust shortly after its release when Half Life and Counter Strike came out. It aged very poorly and to the point of being unplayable many years ago.

 

It's funny because I remember thinking how amazing the graphics are

 

Funny how our brains work. I remember thinking the graphics were so amazing in Madden 97 on Genesis

 

Half Life and Counter Strike were PC titles when first released, so Goldeneye's popularity held on for a little while longer than it should have in the console space. Even past Perfect Dark. But then Halo came out... yeah, Goldeneye sucks.

less than three quarters really. only exception is rdr2.

 

I'm really digging the story and Aloy as a protagonist though. Way more than I was into the Witcher 3 story and Geralt so I hope I finish it.

It took me a long time but I beat Witcher 3 and really loved it.

 

I like the open world games where there are no endings, so you don't ever feel like you have to finish it out of obligation. Ya know, like Forza Horizon. Or space games like Elite Dangerous. I can quit and start again whenever without feeling like I have to remember a bunch of shit. These story based open world games can be annoying because I quit halfway through, decide to finish it months later, but realize I completely forgot the events of the game as well as the order of them.
