I think Splatoon is for everyone if you turn of the motion controls, with motion controls it’s an acquired taste

 

My roommate's girlfriend brought hers over this past weekend and I got to use a Switch for the first time. We played Smash Bros. for a few hours and it was a very nostalgic/fun ride. Would definitely say that's a must have.

 

ARGUE

 

Any fans of roguelikes (or lites? idk the difference) This game is AMAZING. And is very cheap on sale right now. 4 bucks. Highly recommend it.

Rogue Legacy

 

I think Octopath being a "must have" is a real stretch considering it really doesn't do much in terms of anything new and the story is decent at best. It's not a bad game, it's a fun JRPG but it's nothing special.

Also, I always find it hard to recommend things without knowing other people's taste but I'll just put my picks and you can sort through it.

Accessories:
Screen Protector (absolutely must have this)
Micro SD card (if you're going to download more than 5 games, I highly suggest this)
Pro Controller (don't need this right away, but it's one of the best controllers out)
Carrying Case (not only to protect your switch, but to make it easier to travel with your games and not lose them. A decent one is only around $15-$20 dollars)

Games:
Okami HD (with motion controls and touchscreen controls, the way it was meant to be played)
Hollow Knight (fantastic "Metroidvania" game)
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle (don't be fooled, this is actually a really great tactics game)
Katamari Damacy ReRoll (Katamari is back with Co-Op on Switch in HD!)

There are a bunch of other games like Shovel Knight, Firewatch, Oxenfree, Doom and more on Switch as well, but I wanted to suggest things that I think would be best played on Switch.

 

I found Mass Effect Andromeda at Marshall’s for like $5 lmao. I would have bought it if it wasn’t a long ass line.
