What bums me out about the VIII rumors is that I hoped Capcom realized the formula of REmake 2 was a winning one and it's success was in part due to that but now they're going back the FPS style which is disappointing. That and apparently, it's gonna take place in a village and a castle? You did that already with 4, go do something else.

 

Also, why not just bring back a classic character from the series to be in this instead? Rebecca Chambers has been MIA for a long time, why not her?

Luigi’s Mansion 3 is the greatest. Each floor is just SO good. Just made it to Twisted Suites (Floor 11).

 

RE7 was hugely successful and well received because of the change in the formula and it being first person. Of course they’re going to go back to that and expand on it.

village and castle in first person would be cool, just because they’ve gone to one before doesn’t mean it isn’t going to be different. 1 and 2 were in similar environments, one was just a “police station” and it worked great.

and honestly the less they go back to the old characters the better IMO. Plot has gotten too ridiculous and convoluted after 5 and 6, I appreciated the simpler story and different characters/stories

Also i loved RE7 but RE2 is so much better it’s almost comical, I wish they‘d take a few clues from there for RE8 instead of rehashing RE7.
