Speaking of both the zombie trend and TLOU, that game is so good that it forces me to give a shit about maybe the least interesting monster group in maybe the entire history of story telling.

 

Took the time to final beat Final Fantasy XV this morning. Only took about 1 hour from where I left off last time months ago. Overall the game was enjoyable, but glad to have it checked off that I "beat it". Won't be going back to it any time soon most likely. Just started Watch Dogs 2 again where I left off. Probably 80%+ done with main quest and trying to get some of the mission based achievements. This game is a treat for sure.

 

I'd care more about Sega's retro thing if it wasn't on mobile platforms.

 

My immediate backlog is something like this:

- Trails in the Sky The Third - the most glaring entry for me - among my favorite series ever but I like to sit down for extended periods of time with these games and haven't found the time yet
- Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep/DDD/0.2 - finally finish off those HD collections
- Metro Redux - never played the PS4 version albeit owning it for a while and I'm a big fan of the series. Exodus really got me itching to go through the first two again.

Also playing ARMS regularly, game is fun as hell.

Pretty sure the next game on my purchase list is FFXII in a little less than a month so I have some time to get through a bit of this.

They're just as bad as The Witcher 3's.

 

Im not so sure I got 250+ hours in The Witcher 3 and the load times didnt seem as bad to me.

 

If anyone needs a simple/cheap/good gaming mouse, I found this one and really dig it so far. It's clearance on Bethesda's online store. Don't really PC game much, just basic PC usage. It cost me $30 after shipping and tax. Its a $40-50 mouse for the non-Fallout themed edition. Being Fallout themed sold it for me.

Catching up:

I had a pretty good time playing FFXV and played it for many hours, but I think I pretty much washed my hands of that as soon as I finished. The more I think about it the more my estimation of the game falls, so I just try not to think about it. I had absolutely zero interest in the Gladio DLC (and it sounds like it was pretty uninteresting so no loss there) and I have about the same amount for Prompto. That's probably a game I never pick up again. I think the parts of it that will stick with me the most are just riding around in the Regalia listening to music and that the ending was well done (but then that just makes me more frustrated cus if pretty much the rest of the story wasn't so haphazard it would have hit that much harder)


Currently playing Persona (my first one in the series) and am pretty into it. About halfway through the second palace.

Backlog, I think, is Nier, Life is Strange and Dream Drop Distance (before P5 I went through 1.5 + 2.5 and the other two parts of 2.8 before I finally got burnt out on KH probably a couple hours into DDD)

Inspired by this thread I picked Nier back up tonight. I have all the endings except for Y, which I expect to take a while haha. Also I have to finish the DLC side quests

 

disappointing to hear that you think that about prompto, idk if you read the FF thread or not. i'm personally excited for it. the gladio episode was pretty meh, but i kind of expected that lol

 

Not sure what you use to keep track of your collection and wishlist, but I've been working on a platform (built off of another) that means to alleviate issues like this. It's still in its beta phase so it would be nice if you (or anyone interested) would want to give it a go. I have registration closed off at this point, but just let me know if you're interested - it would be good to have a few people testing and trying to break it anyway. It has a network feed so we can all see the games we add and can comment on other people's activity and stuff. Here's an example collection page of mine.

 

Also not sure how many people got around to playing I Am Setsuna (a very classic JRPG by a small studio under Square), but I really enjoyed it despite it having a few shortcomings. Anyway, they have a new game coming out next year that I'm really excited for. I'm hoping they take all the good from Setsuna and build upon that.
