WE JUST HAD LIKE A MASSIVE VIDEO GAME CONFERENCE HAPPEN WITH TONS OF NEW SHIT AND YET THIS NEWS ARTICLE GOT ME THE MOST EXCITED

 

Still surprised that this (true) take didn't rile people up

Lol no fucking way Infinite is a very pretty very mediocre game

 

Infinite is great. I wish the actual gameplay/game layout was more similar to Bioshock then the more linear feel that Infinite had thouygh

 

I will go down swinging saying the first Bioshock is better than Infinite but they are all good nonetheless.

 

Nintendo was good.

Metroid Prime.
Mainline Pokemon.
Kirby.
Yoshi.
Xenoblade.
Mario.

Plus some third party stuff including Rocket League with cross-play. Strong showing.

Mario looks fucking amazing by the way. And Yoshi looks so pretty. And Xenoblade is anime as fuck which is good.

 

I can see why people like the first Bioshock more but Infinite just worked for me so well. One of my favourite games of last gen.

 

I like that Xenoblade is moving away from some of the poor facial designs the previous titles had. I just always hated those.

 

Post Chaos Theory, we have 3 Splinter Cells that got worse.

Many Halo sequels are worse than predecessors.

Many Ghost Recon sequels are bad, including Wildlands.

Gears of War Judgment was not good.

Ever since I purchased my ONE, my 360 hasn't gotten much love. Especially considering backwards compatibility.

 

I'm blown away how much interest I've lost in the MVC game. The roster is HORRIBLE.

 

I went from SUPER excited for MvC to barely even caring it exists. I'll buy it when it's dirt cheap.

My fighting game hype is firmly behind Dragonball right now.

 

100%. I love love love the last Guilty Gear game. DBZ games in that setting are perfect. I hate 3D fighting games for the most part. Never played a DBZ game that felt comfortable, the SNES game being the exception.

 

I remember really enjoying making nwn2 character builds on some website for a while, but I guess that has less to do with the game itself. Gameplay mechanics aside, the first one did have a better campaign and better expansions now that I think about it.

I think Burial at Sea may have influenced my take on it, but then that would be unfair to BioShock 2 because I haven't played Minerva's Den yet.

 

I said this in I think the Dragonball thread but this is a dream game I didn't even know I wanted. ASW's gorgeous engine and fighting game style is such a perfect fit for DBZ.

 

A little late to the party but I was just telling my friend how I wish they would release like a Bioshock: Walkabout. I love those games but I would much rather prefer exploring that world without having to fight anything because the combat is pretty terrible. The thought of walking around Rapture/Columbia before and after their demise, just as a spectator, sounds like a lot of fun to me.
