It requires a degree of nuance that games, particularly AAA, are simply too afraid (and often, I'm sad to say, too stupid) to really thoughtfully handle. Which is a damn shame, because an interactive medium is a great way to explore the oppressive atmosphere and paranoia of a cult or fanatical religion. Outlast was pretty ham fisted in its approach (in line with its treatment of mental illness haha), and beyond that I'm having trouble thinking of any games that don't just treat cults like a vague, shadowy evil.

There will always be a bit of a blight on that game for me because of the less than satisfying story but goddamn if it isn't one of the most incredible playing stealth games, still love it.

I thought the stealth in MGS5 was dreadful. I loved the game because I could make trucks fly away though.

I liked the prologue a lot but that's about it as far as my praise for that game goes.

Physical sales are still far more important on consoles than digital sales, no matter what some people say

Yeah I heard that the story is quite bare bones but apart from that and the constant trekking between point A to point B being quite a slog with nothing else to do, besides picking a few plants and seeing a few animals, the game really is brilliant. Even the slog is made slightly more bearable due to how stunning it looks.

Ground Zeroes definitely worked for me. Having the game take place in such a confined area is what makes MGS work. Phantom Pain was far too big to work for me. Having so much open space with tiny set pieces was just not the way to go about it. There never felt like a sense of urgency in missions. It was just bland.

Giving us a game that wasn't finished didn't help either.

Yeah the stealth itself is hit and miss for me, I like how responsive they can be, but sometimes it's so stupid. They can see me in the grass lying down about 40m away but can't see me literally lift their friend up in the air in a big ass balloon as he's screaming.

It will be interesting to see how the Xbox's streaming service (it's not really streaming but you know what I mean) effects physical sales with it launching in the next month or so.

I think it all depends on the catalog. If they can get solid third-party games (Shadow of Mordor comes to mind) and it's affordable I could see it doing very well. If it's even half as good as EA Access I'm in.

No, you download them, instead of streaming.

It's supposed to have 100 games a month and be $10/month. You will also have the option to purchase a game at a discount if you want to own it outright. There will also be notifications of what is leaving and new games coming in.

I was able to get into the alpha of it, with a limited catalog, and it's looks like it could turn out really well. If it is does, I could see a lot of other developers jumping on board.

See I'd get that, but my internet is so slow that my first month would be over and I'd only have downloaded my first game.
