I still have to finish Watch Dogs 2 and then I have Rise of the Tomb Raider, Horizon Zero Dawn and Mass Effect Andromeda to play.

Might get Witcher 3 after that

Is it not normal that I only play one game at a time? Judging from this thread it seems like most of you have like 3 or 4 that you're playing at once but I could never bring myself to do that

I tend to do that but I never get to finish anything because of that.

  4. Battleborn story missions are fun so far, but take super long. I failed the third one 40 minutes in and have to start from the beginning, which is super frustrating. Kind of ridiculous if they expected someone playing solo to defend the point from taking too much damage from that many waves of that many minions. I think I'll open this one up to co-op and give it another go later. Hopefully the following missions are more solo-friendly.

Aside from that, overall experience has been... positive, I guess? Cool maps, cool enemies, cool characters (I've played five and liked three). I guess my main gripe is the dialogue could be funnier. Borderlands series has me laughing out loud to a much higher percentage of the jokes.

Gearbox used up all their good humor for BL2 and since then, it's been a diminishing result ever since.

I like BL2 quite a bit but boy oh boy is the humor bad at times in that

Oh no doubt, there's definitely some bad humor in that too. It was a good balance though so I'm willing to forgive it. Plus, Claptrap's birthday party and the cursed gun are some of my personal favorite gaming moments from last generation.

That's how I used to play games, I'd stick with one until i beat it unless something new came out that i just had to play or if it was Christmas and i got a lot of games I'd play a bit of each. At the moment though i play most of my games with my girlfriend and she gets bored if we play one game for too long so she likes to have few to choose from. If it were up to me, I'd be doing nothing but playing Nier until i finished it now but has to take breaks so she doesn't get sick of it. There's only been a few games she's been cool with playing non stop like Breath of the Wild and The Last of Us.

I mostly play one at a time too, maybe some handheld games mixed in that are better in short bursts

For the last year I've been playing at least 3 games at a time. In mainly works, but then I'll get a game like The Witcher 3 or Horizon.

Then I'll try to be a completionist, and the other games get neglected a bit.

I at some point decided that I will finish every game I buy... then the newest Deus Ex came along and made me so angry that I abandoned that whole idea

I love KH2 but they do go a bit overboard with the "Defeat all of the Heartless while defending X" goals. Combat still feels soooo good though, it's been years since I've played a significant amount of 2 (played the Roxas intro back six months ago on the PS3 collection, they announced the PS4 collection and I decided to wait for that to play more) and I'm still impressed with how well the combat has held up versus the first game's.

I kept playing hoping it would click but I just did not like it all. All the magic from HR, both technical and in terms of storytelling and environments, was gone in my opinion.

Fair enough. I never played HR, but I enjoyed Invisble War from what I played. Enjoyed Mankind Divided a fair amount.

Have you tried Vanishing of Ethan Carter? If not, you'd definitely like it.

I never got into Gwent, but W3 is amazing. I'm disappointed that I never finished it up, but I probably put the most amount of hours into that game than any other.

  22. I've heard of it but never played, maybe I'll check it out at some point.

I enjoyed the Witcher 3 more than most other games that came out in the last few years and I think it is one of the most immersive games ever made. It's also absolutely horrible in terms of quality of life features, the gameplay loop isn't nearly as good as people pretend (way too much Witcher vision or whatever they call it) and the controls are very clunky (which I noticed even more now after playing Breath Of The Wild). I really like it a lot despite all of that though.

Yep. TW3 is among my favorite games of the last decade but it's nearly all because of the atmosphere, world and writing. The gameplay is generally fine but nothing special (you're totally right on there being too much Witcher vision and the combat isn't really that good either) and even though they've made attempts to tighten up the controls, it's still a little loose and unwieldy. The writing, particularly in some of the longer sidequests, is specatcular and I think it's one of the most immersive and engaging WRPG worlds ever.

I was also a big fan of the previous two Witcher games and those had much more glaring, major flaws - despite the problems with TW3 it's still insane how much of a leap is over the other two.
