I don't know how many people here played/liked Final Fantasy X, but I've been playing the HD remaster on my PS4. Pretty much at the end of the game, and at the end of most of the sidequests. Have two Dark Aeons left to beat, and acquiring Tidus's celestial weapon would be a huge help in that endeavor. Except I could not, for the life of me, beat the stupid fucking Chocobo Racer minigame to get the necessary sigil. Been at it for about 4 months, have gotten as close as 1-2 seconds multiple times. Well, my brother, who hasn't played the game in years, shows up and beats it on his third try. I'm stoked, but also, what the fuccccccck.

 

Did you know that you actually have to get a negative time on that race? Like, if you get a time of 0:0.0 you won't get it? It has to be -0:0.1 or whatever but it won't show that time in the game. One time I got it at a perfect 0 and didn't get the sigil, hahaha.

 

I'm amazing at that Chocobo race, haha. Only celestial weapons I could never get were Lulu's and Kimarhi's.

 

Those were such a pain. I got Kimahri's eventually but Lulu's I still haven't gotten. I ended up just building my own for her.

 

Yeah, that's what I did. I ended up breaking a PS2 controller trying to do Lulu's. I got to like 196 four times in a row. Never even attempted it again.

 

Yuuuuuuuuuuuup. It's so fucking irritating. My brother ended up with 13 balloons, hit by one bird to get under 0 seconds. I literally handed him the controller, went to the bathroom, and 30 seconds later he was like, "I did it."

You're not a real human. And what gave you such issues with Kimarhi's? The butterfly chase is pretty easy once you get the general layout down. Fuck Lulu, though. I don't have the time to dodge 200 lightning bolts. Besides, I bring Yuna into her sphere grid anyways and just use her when I need a black mage.

 

That chocobo race is bullshit. A lot of X is bullshit.

 

You can definitely build a celestial weapon for Tidus and still beat Dark Aeons/Penance though. I built mine for Wakka and Lulu and did it. (Had it for Wakka but enjoyed my built one more)

 

I hate how it's virtually impossible to raise your Luck stat across the board to a decent level with the Sphere Grid unless you attempt to farm Fortune Spheres from whatever monster arena fiend drops them, which then in turn makes it pretty much impossible to even hit the Dark Magus Sisters or Dark Yojimbo with physical attacks (even though each of my character's have ridiculous stats in every other category)

 

Luck isn't really too important though once you get to Dark Aeons (in my humble opinion) considering how certain attacks work

I don't think i've ever tried to beat the dark aeons properly. I just don't care enough.

 

Attack Reels always hits, Blitz Ace always hits, Furies always hit, magic in general always hits, Trio Of 9999 is a godsend

Right of course, both very different games but I think QB in the end will be a game I return to more often actually than AW. Although, I did redeem my code for AW on BC so I can play later.

Sam Lake confirmed it will happen, so ready.

I've been playing through it solo and having a blast. Fun game.

 

About to replay .hack//INFECTION and see if it holds up in retrospect

I can't even remember but I couldn't do it, haha. tbf I didn't spend too long on it since I pretty much never used Kimarhi.

 

Love X. I was really good at the chocobo race for some reason haha. I think the only celestials I got were Tidus, Wakka, and Yuna.

 

It works out twice as well for me, because my fiancee LOVES the soundtrack. So she doesn't mind if I play it for hours on end haha

 

X has the best soundtrack. X is the best.

 

I remember seeing you talk about this a lot. Maybe I'll download it some time soon. The reason I hadn't checked it out before is that mobile gaming is usually something that I don't enjoy/care about (the only reason I ended up getting KHUx is because so many of my friends had gotten it). But thanks for the rec, I'll check it out :p

 

And yes, FFX is the best FF.

Easily one of my favorite games ever. But Im still salty they didn't give us cutscene skips in the HD versions

 

I have a random question and it's been bugging me for years.

On The SNES, there was a Mickey Mouse (or maybe Duck Tales) game where you would use APPLES to throw as your weapon. It was a platformer but I can't remember for the life of me which game this was, but it was one of my favorites from that era.

 

Yes and I'm really impressed. It's better than I thought it would be. I'm very much happy with the RPG aspect
