    Top 10 of 2016

    1. Mafia 3
    2. Tokyo Mirage Sessions
    3. Fire Emblem Fates
    4. Pokemon Sun/Moon
    5. Gears Of War 4
    6. Battlefield 1
    7. Steep
    8. Firewatch
    9. Dishonored 2
    10. Dragon Quest 7

Honorable Mention: Hitman (only played the frist two stages so far)

I haven't played a lot games I want to play, but when is that not the case? As a big Harvest Moon fan (I played countless hours of Rune Factory 4 this year), I'm especillay looking forward to playing Stardew Valley, but I'm waiting for the Switch version.

Also, the best game I played this year was Tony Hawk's Underground.

Played about an hour of Inside last night and every second was incredible. The things Play Dead can do with such simple game mechanics blows my mind.

I also got The Valley in the psn sale. Jim Sterling is literally the only person I saw talking about it but it looked hella fun.

Just grabbed Overwatch and Titanfall 2 on PS4. We got a place in this forum/thread to share PSN IDs/gamertags/etc.? Would be good to have some folks to play with.

nah PS users usually all just stick to this thread unless Nintendo because they got their own thread or a certain game thread.

Liked Gears 4 story, love that it's keeping a lot of connection to the Locust story while still seeming fresh.

Online has been hit or miss. Reminds me a lot of the first game in terms of some of the bugs. The matchmaking sucks tho.

I think I'm just about ready to get a final top 10 of the year set, with little write-ups for fun. I'll be curious to see how different it is from the other few times I posted a list, hah.

This was my first XBL sale with an XB1 and I have to say it was quite disappointing. The European prices are shocking.

Most of the newer games have been cheaper on disc the day they came out haha

I wish that was the case here. they're more expensive physical in gamestop. cheaper in another shop but they're suspiciously out of stock for the last month :chin:

I buy games in the Netherlands and Gemany and random department stores and big consumer electronic stores usually have them for like around 20€ less at launch than dedicated video game stores. I almost never pay more than 53€, often not more than 43€ at launch, even though digitally and in dedicated video game stores they are being sold for 69€.

Everyone better grab Day of the Tentacle with PS+ and enjoy one of the greatest games/remasters of all time. I'm counting on all of you.

Anyone on PC played Rimworld? I'm tempted by it but I'm not sure how much I'd really get out of it.

anyone have any opinions on PS Vita's? I never really looked into them much till recently and I'm unsure.

What games do you typically play? The vita is incredible for JRPGs, visual novels, and is an awesome PS1 emulator. The support for newer games is near dead, but if you're into those three types of games, the vita is well worth it.

It's good piece of hardware that you'll only get enough out of if you like mid-tier JPRGs, PS1 games and certain indie games released between roughly 2012 and 2014. I'm not even trying to hate on it right now, that is basically it. It's a shame Sony abandoned it.

I love my Vita to death but like the two above me have said, it has a very specific library. It has a very good library of JRPGs (including one of my favorite games of the year), good ports of late PS3/early PS4 era indie games, some excellent visual novels (Danganronpa and the Zero Escape series, both of which are getting PS4 ports soon) and it's a good portable PS1 despite having to fool around with controls for a few games due to the lack of R2/L2. If you don't have a PSP it plays the section of the library that's on the PSN store (which is pretty extensive outside of a few glaring omissions like some of the higher profile Square Enix games). It still gets the occasional indie port, and there are still occasional Japanese developed games coming out for it though it seems to be up in the air whether companies choose to localize and bring over those versions instead of just a PS4 edition.

It's a well made machine (even though the original OLED screen was more vibrant the recent screen still looks good) with the issue of having to use way-too-expensive memory cards. Look up the library, see what you like, chances are if you have a PS3 or PS4 you might already have some cross-buy versions of games you own for either of those systems. I like my Vita, I use my Vita a fair bit, but I can't really blindly recommend it to someone without knowing their specific tastes and because the system just doesn't get that many games anymore (and honestly never really did).

It does have the benefit of having Persona 4 Golden, one of the GOATs of JRPGs, though...

So I ended up upgrading my 5-6 year Samsung 43" 1080p tv in my room and got a 49" 4K LG smart tv for $425 at Best Buy. Is that a pretty good deal? The only other TVs in that range for 4K were either smaller or not as good brands(imo). It looks amazing to me and I'm stoked to have a bigger screen in my room. Also traded in my launch xbone for 1tb white gears edition. Can't believe how much smaller it is and how much nicer it looks with the matte finish

I can't really get into jrpg's. I do love the ps1. I'm not sure what you mean by visual novels? in the past 6 months I've really gotten into a lot of the indie style games that the ps plus has offered. opened my eyes to a lot more game styles that I didn't realize I'd enjoy so much. Valiant Hearts and Counter Spy are two of my favorites from those.

prior to that I'd play mostly superhero games, sports games, assassin's creed, bioshock, uncharted, stuff like that. but also loved games like civ 5, telltale style games, Indiana jones and the fate of atlantis. so a decent variety I guess.

Me and friend had nothing to do yesterday so we played some split screen Borderlands 2 and damn I thought the game was fun before but with someone else it's so good.

I really hope he gets it again for the PS4 so we can co-op through it.
