it's got deck building elements, mounts, and teleports. it's a FPS that's more MOBA like than OW. and as noted, they've been working on this for some time. it's a pretty fun game, and Evie is a great character.

This is so silly.

 

rocket league bugs me with the crate system because there is no way to earn keys and I'm just like boo.

in every other game at least I have a way to earn the keys/crates.

 

Such as? Haven't looked too far into it.

 

I know nothing about Paladins and have no interest in it, but thought this was funny:

 

Some of the character similarities are pretty egregious

 

welp. swing and a miss. kinda burnt out on all this haha. it started months ago, but seemed to have only gone "public" 2 days ago for whatever reason. haven't been keeping up with gaming news as much as i usually do i guess.

 

I don't want to play anything remotely resembling a MOBA anymore.

 

Mainly a directors commentary mode, which sounds like it'll be like Gone Home's. I think that kinda stuff is interesting.

 

What I've heard about the firewatch commentary sounds amazing.

 

Did they release that yet?

 

I can see why people would compare it to overwatch, but Paladins has been in development for a while, it's not like it just came out of nowhere. It's a mixture of SMITE and overwatch characters.

 

I just now finished my ranked conquest matches in smite and I went 4 wins and 6 losses.

I ended up getting placed in Silver 2 so I'm actually pretty stoked on that even though it's just barely over bronze.

 

Yes it's out on XB1 now.

Is HotS worth playing? I downloaded it the other day for fun but haven't gotten a chance to really play it yet

 

i got addicted and a severe case of carpal tunnel.

so i say yes. just be careful. haha.

it's easy compared to other MOBAS, but still very fun.

 

Being easier compared to other MOBAs is a good thing, heh.

 

So I checked their Twitter and it's cause the open beta finally started.

 

I played two matches. Felt like DotA to me... not my thing.

 

Nice haha. I think it'll be just kinda a filler game for when I can't play anything on console. At least that's the plan, I guess we'll see if that's how it actually goes

I had played Paladins at an earlier point in its development, a couple months ago I believe, and while Overwatch was definitely front of mind as a character shooter for some reason I pulled something else out of it - like a mad sommelier warbling about “catcher’s mitts” and “seafoam,” I was catching hints of WoW Battlegrounds, Tribes, and peppercorn. Because of my sophisticated palate, you see. Grob Grob has another position, the position of people generally, which is that Paladins is Overwatch not with the serial numbers filed off, but with the serial numbers worn at a jaunty angle like a hat.
