I haven't bought office in a long while, made liberal use out of my 3 licenses.

 

The biggest benefit of the new PS4's is the 802.11 ac wifi

 

Won't fix their terrible servers though. Slow downloads be slow.

 

Yeah but it'll be far better than it currently is. I cable in to mine and they aren't that bad. Wifi is atrocious.

 

Compared to the PS3's download times, they're like a beam of light flashing through the dark universe.

 

Do not remind me of PS3 downloads

I was also really hoping for a PSNow EU update. PS3 games on PC would be wild.

 

PS4 Pro

 

Even wired in I was maybe getting 2MB down out of the available 40MB bandwidth at my house.

Unacceptable for such a widely used service to be that slow in the uear 2016.

At least the PS3 didn't require large downloads for every game you installed, so it's especially pathetic when we are basically required to download every game we play.

 

Apparently Rise of the Tomb Raider will have 3 modes on pro

- 4K mode, the big resolution and developers made the optimal choices

- 1080p high framerate, 60 FPS

- 1080p bells and whistles, 30 FPS locked with every processing technique pushed to the max

 

That sounds kinda rad actually.

I wouldn't mind having a copy of TSW on Blu Ray, that movie was ahead of its time.

 

I still get a great laugh at the shoehorned dialogue of Max raving about Spirits Within, in Life is Strange.

 

4K BD is barely even a thing right now, most people can't tell the difference between it and OG BD nor do they care about it. For MS to deride Sony for not having 4K BD playback when most people don't even own an actual 4K BD is a bit silly, especially since the average consumer would rather just stream Netflix instead.

 

Commonplace now != commonplace in a year or twos time.

MS managed to get the proper drive in their One-S for a reasonable price, why couldn't Sony?

 

What's 4K Blu-Ray? Never heard of it tbh. Streaming all the way for me.

 

Nah, I don't see 4K BD being commonplace at all. Hell, OG BD is barely a thing now. Streaming/digital is the future, it's easier to just stream Netflix then to go out, buy/rent a movie, and repeat. For tech people, maybe it matters. For the average consumer, nah.

 

Next step up from BD, basically it's just a higher res BD and that's it. Also the next potential Betamax/HD DVD.

 

With wider adaptability of 4k, streaming is going to have a tough time keeping up with the increase of quality demand.

You wanna talk about 4K blu-ray not being much of a thing? 4k streaming is almost nonexistent outside of a select few netflix and youtube selections, and its compressed to all hell.

Those who have 4k sets now and would upgrade consoles solely for 4K would be the first to prioritize Quality. The average consumer isn't going to buy a Pro or Scorpio.

 

Does it have more disc space or is it the same as normal?

 

As it stands right now, xbox is offerin the better deal with their slim model than ps4 is for their high grade console. People have every right to grill Sony over that.

Larger disc space. More pixels = larger bit rate.

 

You'll see greater strides toward people acquiring 4K TVs and improvements on 4K streaming qualities (along with higher internet speeds) then 4K BD being commonplace over the next few years.

 

Actually tbh, I don't care about any of the consoles. I'll always buy Sony that's where all my friends are. 4K means shit to me.
