yep. there's a ton of really well designed mobile games. Go isn't one of them.

Nothing. There are gyms but no battle system to beat them, they're automatic. I don't think you can even do anything with the Pokemon you catch, they just sit there in the pokedex.

I'm not a big fan of remasters, but I love having the option to buy old games I love on new systems.

 

Wait... so is it an incremental? I actually enjoy those quite a bit.

Nope but it sounds hella interesting. I usually just have a few incrementals on my phone.

Syndicate was an extremely solid game, and that's coming from someone who thought every AC title without Ezio ranges from average-hot trash.

 

They said that beforehand though, that's why they're also releasing a watch peripheral for $30 that will notify you of things nearby without having to always have your phone open. I'm still excited about it, I get super sucked into dumb things like this.

When you wait 30 minutes for a map to download and you're pretty sure the server is going to be empty by the time you get in.

 

I mean I'm not gonna buy it because I only have so much wrist real estate but you don't actually have to wear it on your rest, just keep it on you somewhere. idk why it's gross though

 

I didn't know but damn it would be so much better like streetpass. if you've an android phone you can play it now.

 

I'm trying to get back into writing a little, specifically focusing on games. Got a little idea floating around my head about whether certain games are becoming too massive to complete. As I get older I find myself finishing less and less games because new ones come out that I want to play and I just don't have the time anymore.

Curious to hear people's thoughts - probably more so people in their 20s or older who may not have as much time to game anymore and feel daunted by huge games, or people who just feel that games like The Witcher 3 are simply too long to be worth it (though not necessarily feel that it's a bad game).

 

That's really why I was pushing it so hard too. I haven't enjoyed an AC game so much since Ezio, and I said as much haha

 

Syndicate is the best AC game imo.

 

I've spent so much time and so many curse words on trying to catch every Pokemon

 

I got sucked into Pokemon Shuffle pretty recently too, it took me probably 10+ tries to catch Chansey despite always having a 70% chance.

 

Oh I thought you meant that you had to have the wrist thing to get push notifications, if you can still see that there is a pokemon via push notification on the phone than that's no biggie.

 

a good game know what length it should be.

Good example:
Inside. It remains intriguing and engaging throughout, even though it is only 4 hours.

Bad example:
Alien isolation. Could've been one of the best games of all time, if they had shortened it by at least 25%!

I think as long as games remain engaging they can be long and people will finish it. As soon as they become a slog it becomes increasingly unlikely.

If Pokemon Go was what everyone hoped it would be plus microtransactions, it would make all of the money.

 

my favorite platformer in some time was legends

 

i haven't tried pokemon go, i've mostly been keeping up with downloading the legendaries for 3DS lol
