Hats off to you.

 

All I seem to be playing right now is downloadable content (with DOOM which I think I am nearing the end of and Dirt Rally being the only exceptions) but Far Harbor is so good and the second part of the Air, Land & Sea Expansion for Just Cause 3 is really fun.

 

I wish I didn't hate Fallout 4 as much as I do, can't really give the game a fair shake given the at times painful writing and almost zero choice.

The most I can say about it is that the crafting system is ok, (the settlement stuff is cool but feels entirely unnecessary) and they improved the actual gunplay.

But I'd go back to the previous entries janky combat if it meant the series would go back to being, well... an RPG.

 

This is a fun little video, I know every studio does this but it does feel like Ubisoft's trailers are especially egregious.

 

It wasn't as challenging as the previous two boss's, but was still fun.

The load times in Hitman are still annoying.

 

honestly watching that video makes me miss watch_dogs, i had more fun with it than i thought...

 

this feeling is one of my favorite feelings in games. I felt it first with Half-Life, Braid, and Knytt Underground, and im pretty sure Im gonna feel it with the upcoming Night in the Woods too

 

It depends on what difficulty and how many secret areas you want to explore. I put in roughly 10 hours.

 

I think I'm going to take a break from playing Overwatch on my own. Too many disappointing teams. And more importantly, I haven't spent as much time in Final Fantasy XIII in the past few days as I would've liked. (And I totally forgot I was playing through Telltale Game of Thrones.)

 

I haven't been wowed by a game in a while. Last one was probably Bioshock Infinite. Then again, since I'm always waiting for price drops, I haven't gotten Tomb Raider 2, Dragon Age 3, The Witcher 3, or Fallout 4 yet, and I'll probably get Mirror's Edge: Catalyst in 2018.

 

im not even sure it's a "wow" thing for me (although the two aren't in opposition to each other), it's more about how engrossed i can get in a world and how off-guard it catches my emotions. Half-Life and Braid were the two first games I ever played through, and they're both very atmospheric and well-designed, so i think they caught me off-guard. KU also caught me by surprise but was very soothing in a time when i needed something soothing and i think that's why it's timeless for me. NITW looks like it's going to touch a lot of feelings i'm still sorting out. etc

 

Watch_Dogs wasn't "wow" for me either. similarly to @Spencer Control it's about how i felt while i was playing, there was a lot going on and i enjoyed it for that. something i kind of forget about sometimes.

I have ME Catalyst pre-ordered (not at full price - i had some nice trade-ins and coupons. also weirdly enough the only other game I've pre-ordered was W_D) so I'm going to pick it up this week.

 

that trilogy has hit me for a lot of reasons (see username as an example haha).

 

I was like "wow" when WD released because I was like "wow, this is the third game released since Fall 2013 that I've bought"

 

one of these days watch_dogs will go low enough that i'll pick it up on pc haha. it's too bad the hype train ran away with it bc i think that was more than anything the cause of the mixed reviews

As far as emotional investment, I've played Borderlands 2 an embarrassing amount of times and the Telltale one was really good as well. I can't say I'm as drawn to the first one or the Pre-Sequel though.

I think the feeling you're describing, though, I get when I play Limbo; as frustrating as it can be sometimes, it's just so satisfying.

 

13 give or take a couple of hours depending on play style.
