Oh man that Crash Bandicoot part in Uncharted has got me really excited about a possible reboot of that series.

 

Pretty sure Activision now hold the rights to Crash, unless that's changed recently, so don't get your hopes too high for a good one.

 

Having Naughty Dog make a Crash Bandicoot game would a huge mismanagement of resources. I would assume they will work on a new game for The Last of Us game after UC4 and then possibly move on to a new IP.

 

They've owned that IP for around 10+ years now. It's rumored that Sony might soon have ownership, as Activision were not referenced in the credits for Uncharted 4. Also, Crash was removed entirely from Activision's website back in 2013.

I don't know what the pronunciation is supposed to be and I know that in Kingdom Hearts they pronounce it "Tee-dus" but I heard in a different offshoot game they pronounce it "Tide-us"? I don't know. I'll always say "Tide-us".

 

I've also never played a Final Fantasy game. There's just something about the design and combat that I don't find enticing.

 

If I only had Final Fantasy games to play for the rest of my life I'd be OK with it

 

It's most likely not going to happen as this new DOOM is a reboot of the entire franchise just like DmC and Tomb Raider.

 

I think that description is a little over the top. It was good but nowhere close to the original two.

 

Dead Space 3 was utterly awful imo.

 

thing is, besides the typical RPG elements of leveling up, upgrading your abilities/weapons etc, many of the games are not really like each other. like, each of the games in the FF XIII trilogy are very different from each other, FF X doesn't play like any of those, and the newest games i've played, FF Explorers and FF Type-0 HD (both great btw) feel way more like KH. i think everyone can find something to like in the franchise, and i only got into it like...3 years ago. but i do also have some bias so. haha

 

FF VI is perfect, everyone play that

 

I replay FFVI at least every other year, sometimes yearly.

 

only thing is I wish there was a DS port, I prefer it to the Vita.

Or maybe I'll just pick up a used GBA SP and play it on there

Yeah I think I saw it back when I was getting FFRK and was like "OH SHIT THE BEST ONE" and instant bought it

I used to get so mad when people would just write off JRPG's or even just Japanese games in general because they didn't like the style. My two best friends who I mostly talk games with will never play a Final Fantasy game or anything like that. I've kind of gotten over it now just because I've realised there's a lot of shit I have no interest in based on style or gameplay mechanics I'm not interested in. I think everyone's got something like that so I shouldn't be so offended or annoyed just because someone's happens to be something I love, haha.

I'm basically saying I'm ok with people in this thread not loving Dark Souls/Final Fantasy. If you don't love Zelda then fuck you.
