The problem with that article title is that it isn't a Microsoft threat. It's Microsoft and Nintendo. On top of that developers will start noticing they don't play ball and will find a way to capitalize on the two that do leaving Sony behind.

Microsoft isn't a threat. Everyone is.

Finally getting back into Rise of the Tomb Raider after clearing some of my backlog. Good decision.

mmm, i really liked else heart.break() after finishing it. wonderfully appropriate ending for both a bildungsroman and cyberpunk and i found myself really missing Dorisburg and all its unique quirks and nooks and crannies of stories and ambiguous humanity

Cross play is the least of Sony's problems. This article really stretched a couple valid points thinly. Sony's biggest threat is not improving ps now (which the article does mention) and lack of bc

Neither of those are priorities nor should they be.

  8. Sunset Overdrive 2 would surprise me. The developer seemed pretty adamant that wasn’t happening.

That's what I thought too. They wanted to do another, but they said Microsoft was holding all the cards. They also wanted it released on PC and Microsoft wouldn't budge on that either.

Maybe Microsoft heard all the criticism about not having exclusives and rush ordered it? This could also be a fake leak.

  10. Bloodborne 2 at this point would also surprise me because From/Miyazaki have Shadows Die Twice and that VR game coming out in the next year

I don't think Sony's problem is the lack of cross play and backwards compatibility as much as it's their unnecessarily antagonistic attitude towards both of those things.

I don't think that's fair on the backwards compatibility part because they do have PS Now and they could easy just do it for the PS5. They have no reason to spend all that money on developing a system/infrastructure right now. It would be a moot point when they can use it to leverage their next console.

Cross-play though. I completely agree. Being a bunch of assholes about it.

PS has been very up front about how they are in no rush to create a method for BC and the feedback for PS Now has been pretty poor.

The feedback has been poor because it's a piece of shit service and they should have abandoned it months after launch. They should just wait and launch the PS5 with true backwards compatibility and then no one will bitch.

I'll agree that it'd be pointless to add backwards compatibility now but I feel like it should have had it from the start. Sony used to be the leader when it came to backwards compatibility so it always seemed a little silly that they were always so fucking stubborn about it not being a part of the PS4. Like, I still remember how huge of a deal it was that the PS2 could play PS1 games, how big of a deal it was that the early PS3's had full backwards compatibility even though the initial PS3 games mostly sucked and it still costed too fucking much therefore no one was buying them etc etc

I hate harping on Sony as much as I do because do genuinely love the PS4 as a console and grew up primarily around Sony consoles but they honestly frustrate the hell out of me with their attitude towards things that a lot of people want.

playing Emily is Away Too is making me feel all nostalgic and shit (even the language I see). I was a huge fan of the first one.

The music choices for this game is pretty great: YouToob - Colly Strings-Manchester Orchestra

Went to a friend's wedding that was about 1.5 hours away yesterday, so we brought the Switch for the trip. My wife was just blown away that she was sitting in the back seat playing Mario Kart on this device lol
