Honestly, there haven't been a lot of games this year. Q3-Q4 will be stacked though.

 

Monster Hunter World, Celeste, A Way Out, Detroit: Become Human, God Of War, Dragon Ball Fighter Z, Moss, Sea Of Thieves, Far Cry 5, Kirby Star Allies, Ni No Kuni 2, Minit, Bloodstained: Curse of The Moon, Yakuza 6, State Of Decay 2, Onrush, Vampyr, Unravel 2, Mario Tennis Aces, The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, and The Crew 2.

Not to mention a bunch of remasters and ports like Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition, Shadow Of The Colossus, Ikaruga, Lumines Remastered, Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Burnout Paradise Remastered, Devil May Cry HD Collection, Bayonetta 1 & 2, and Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology.

But other than those few games, I agree with you. Not much has come out.

And I'm currently going through the DMC collection so yea sure

 

Mmm GoW is the only standout for me. MHW was good but idk it just didn't leave a big impression. Red Dead may be the only challenge for Goty for me over GoW.

 

Totally forgot about FC5. I knew I played DBZ, but it’s only a 10/10 with friends on the couch. Which I’ve only had my friends interested to play it twice.

 

I think the problem is having this conversation about good games that came out this year right after asking what everyone's game of the year haha.

There are a bunch of really fun and wonderful gems out there this year that may not be GOTY level, but still completely worth the investment.

A game I forgot to mention was Yoku's Island Express which I played on Switch, but is also out on PS4. It's an adventure platformer that's set up around pinball mechanics. It has boss battles and everything. Very fun.

I just finished my ranked placements on rainbow six siege on my gf’s account (she doesn’t like ranked much)... She was silver 4 last season and I bumped her up to gold fucking 2. Meanwhile, I’m stuck in gold 4 gosh darnit

with the steam sale and my new computer, i've made a concerted effort to actually start and finish FFIX and so far it's been incredible. FFX was my first FF and over the years i've tried playing VIII and IX with middling success.

 

FFIX is my favorite of the series! Vivi is amazing

 

So after having the Metroid Prime trilogy sitting untouched on my Wii U for 2 years, I've finally decided to start playing it today only to find out I can only play it with the Wiimote+nunchuk, neither of which I have anymore.

Why is life so unrelentingly terrible?

 

Vivi has skyrocketed to being my favorite ff character!

Wasn't sure where else to put this but here's something I did for shits and giggles at the Round One in Middletown, NY a couple weeks ago. I had fun with this even though it was tiring as fuck. I wasn't playing for score at all, my highest score on this is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy higher than what I got here. But worth it for the memes

 

I'm not even remotely surprised anymore. None of the stupid shit Sony pulls surprises me anymore.

It sucks because I actually do still consider the PS4 to be my favorite console of this generation but I also can't help but constantly harp on Sony for their stupidity.

 

I'm wilding out on Disney adventures right now tbh.
