I live in a box of an apartment. I can't hold on to anything so an old console would be the first thing to go. I personally don't want to go back to anything but I get it.

 

I already have my PS4, Xbone, Switch, PS3, 360 and Wii U set up. I never play anything earlier because I cba getting older consoles out and if the next consoles aren't backward compatible with this gen shit's going to get real crowded.

 

Who even has time to play current gen games AND old ones.

 

Its not like it takes any more time there's just more choice.

 

My Xbox one has Skate 3 and I find that very valuable to me lol

 

And being able to play through all 3 mass effects (didn’t own them on 360 was cool)

 

My PC was able to run both the first Mass Effect and Witcher 3 pretty fine. I'm glad I don't have to worry about backwards compatibility.

Okay, having said that, there was that one time Max Payne didn't want to run on the newer versions of Windows, but other than that, I've managed to play every game I've installed. As far as newer games, I've been able to get away with keeping my PC minimally up to date. It's not like I have to buy the latest and greatest graphics cards and processors and whatever every two years (although I'm sure there are people who do).

I kind of wish I had PS2-4 to play exclusives, but like, my Steam library is already pretty huge and I don't think I'll ever run out of things to play.

 

it is literally the definitive way to play old Microsoft exclusives. games are very, very often upscaled to higher resolutions and with improved framerates. pretty huge side of the argument being ignored here, it's not the same experience. look up KOTOR on Xbox v. KOTOR on Xbone.

 

I don't even like Xbox because I don't like the X1 UI, their lack of exclusives and a bunch of other stuff they do from a business standpoint however the way they do backwards compatibility is the way it should be done and it's a really smart move on their part.

 

No way Jedi: Fallen Order comes out next year. Calling it now. They didn’t show off anything at e3 I think that game is 2020 if it doesn’t get canned like EA did to the other two.

 

I’m not arguing that it’s being handled poorly, I’m arguing that I’m baffled by how Microsoft has had to wheel out backwards compatibility as a selling point for what should be cutting edge modern platforms. If we were seeing Xbox exclusives left, right, and center, no one would care about backwards compatibility.

The PSN store UI is single handedly worse than anything on Xbox one's. Come on now.

You can't tell me searching by going through each individual letter is accessible or user friendly. It's really annoying. And I'm not a "fanboi" of either company cause I think caring that much about companies when they don't care about you is weird. Console wars are for children not adults.

 

I don't think anyone has ever defended the PlayStation Store UI lol

 

in a generation overflowing with fullpriced remasters, playing upscaled/improved versions of the originals for free means a lot to more consumers than i think you're giving credit for

 

I mean the way vase was talking about Xbox one's, kinda implies otherwise...lol. either way my point stands.

 

I was assuming they were talking about the home screen not the store, I may be wrong

 

I love backwards compatibility on the Xbox One, gives me a chance to play games that I never got the chance to do so back when they were released plus for the ones that I have played before that have been improved graphically means I can enjoy them all over again in a new way.

No. The Playstation Store may not have great UI, but it's a fraction of the console compared to the X1's whole system UI is just fucking ad heavy, bloated and convoluted.

Speaking of UI's when is Switch finally going to change theirs up a bit? Add new themes? Add actual playtime count. I'm susrprised it doesn't have one of those things the 3DS had where it recorded everything like number of times played, average play time, etc. It would be super nice.

 

Also, PSVR on sale for $110.

The Playstation Store is worse than anything the X1 dashboard does.

I dread having to navigate the playstation store.

 

It's 240, they said that is 110$ cheaper than they have seen anywhere else. I almost had a heart attack when you said 110$ lol
