lol it could be if they are indeed making it an alternate reality WW1.

 

I'm not really gonna be interested if it's another sci-fi shooter. Also wouldn't be too stoked about a WWI Battlefield. But space WWI? I'd buy that.

No sure how reliable this is, or if you want to believe me, but had a friend attend a secret EA event last week. Had to sign a load of documents and NDA stuff, but the showed off the new BF as WWI. I guess he'll be proven right or wrong tomorrow, but sounds like it could be awesome.

 

If Battlefield is set in WWI, it will be my first Battlefield game. Making the jump from COD.

Tired of all the futuristic bullshit.

 

I'm fine with futuristic stuff, it's just the way Activision handled it. Like Black Ops 3 would be 100x better without those supply drops. I sort of liked the game and I think I had around 18 hours in multiplayer. But once those guns came to the drops, I've abandoned it and any game Activision ever makes. They could make a deal with Valve to publish Half-Life 3 on consoles and I would not buy it.

 

I hope the WW1 stuff is true. I'm pretty fed up of super futuristic and zombie games/settings.

I've never played any COD or BF game, but i'm curious what's the main differences outside of setting/story?

 

It appears 99% likely that a variation of WW1 will be occurring. Some "insider" at "neogaf" has been "hinting" at ww1 BF5 for a year now.

 

COD = small player base, small maps, it's all about getting kills and getting killstreaks.

BF = HUGE maps, 64 players, gamemodes that favor teamwork and scoring and not just killing. Also there are classes like medic, support, recon, etc.

 

Trench warfare doesn't sound like much fun.

 

Chance of having only trench warfare is like 0%.
The end of WW1 had a lot of crazy battles not fought in trenches.

 

That's an incredibly succinct explanation thank you! I know most FPS are about MP and whatnot but i've never played any and it doesn't interest me, i've just always been curious what the differences b/w all of them is.

 

Okay, finished Arcade Mode with Fukua and Painwheel. Had to fight Beowulf three times and Big Band twice, that was fucking annoying. Maria wasn't as difficult this time; spamming Painwheel's j.HK and j.HP helped.

That was a nice break. Okay, back to studying.

 

I'm really really struggling to think how they will make WWI a fun game. That war is fucking horrifying in the least.

 

I don't know what it is, I've just never had any interest whatsoever in anything even remotely related to sci-fi and the like. I'm that rare breed that doesn't even like Star Wars, haha.

 

For real, people got tore the fuck in that war.

 

Yep. It was horrible. A lot of people that didn't want to fight sitting around until they got fucked up in some gruesome way by other people who didn't want to fight.

There's also no "happy ending", the literal only positive coming out of the back of WWI was people realised they needed strategies in war and that's not much a positive.

 

So....alternate history? I'm so ready for new BF in my life...

This is the year of shooters, Titanfall, BF, COD that is interesting, Deus Ex, DOOM...damn

 

Not really. I mean you had the German offensives but that was just them marching forward until most of their troops died of hunger.

 

True, but this is a game published by EA. They will be glorifying war and will not be touching much on stuff like that I'm sure.
