  2. shame because it's one of the better lists.

btw can you expand on your criticism of AC? Just curious what changes you disliked.

I don't think the leveling and loot systems are very good. Especially the arbitrariness of levels feels weird in a game about stabbing people in the neck from behind. Making it relevant for regular combat is fine, but having assassinations not work because of levels is dumb I think. Skillfully sneaking through a base only to not be able to even damage the target is frustrating.

A lot of AC tropes seem oddly misplaced, like the borderline useless tower climbing. That's just one example. To me it's quite obvious that this game did not start out as an AC game.

I also think that the mission design and the way it interacts with/exists within the open world has taken a step backwards compared to Syndicate. It's better for storytelling purposes, but less good in creating a satisfying gameplay loop, which Syndicate's mission design excelled in.

Also, I generally prefer city-based AC, but that's just me.

I really like it though. It's a very good game and the craftsmanship is absolutely incredible. Also, the combat is so much better. I'd probably call it the second best AC game, if you accept that the Ezio games didn't actually age well at all in terms of gameplay, especially if you played Syndicate or even Unity. So yeah, don't think I'm shitting on this game.

    Thanks for complimenting my list.

  4. @The Lucky Moose I agree with most of what you said, especially the loot system was oddly disappointing, I basically played the entire game with the same sword as most of the stuff that dropped was just meaningless trash, also some weapon categories just weren't rewarding to play, such as the bigger axes or the small 2 hand swords, I just couldn't quite make them sing.

also let's be real this would've been a much better game had Aya been the protagonist.

A lot of people say that but I actually disagree with that, I think Bayek is more multifaceted. He also gets more screen time though so it's hard to compare them.

My favorite AC protagonist is probably Eve from Syndicate, though Bayek and Ezio have their highlights.

  6. Don't get me wrong, I like Bayek, he's funny, charming and cool, I just much prefer Aya. Plus she gets to hang with Cleopatra and goes on way more interesting missions.

    I'm guessing she'll be the sequel/prequel.

Also I think AC: Origins was needlessly big. The amount of places they modelled is insane. Should've rather done 1-2 more Uncharted'esque missions like the on where you had to climb burning ships to get to the tower of Alexandria.

  7. but yeah in retrospect now that you mention it Aya does seem a little one-track minded, but maybe as you said it is precisely because we barely see her in comparison to Bayek.

Good to see the DBZ game is like any fighter where people just spam attacks 24/7

Finally started the Frozen Wilds DLC, sort of. I made it up to the area on the map, but I didn't start any missions. It felt really awesome to start the game back up though. A wave of familiarity came over me when I started it up. Not many games make me feel that way.

  13. funny, I also spent my day yesterday catching up on Horizon. made it to the last quest.

I guess it's not as bad as I remember but it still doesn't quite click with me. The fact that Alloy can barely climb anything is infuriating and the camera is ultra frustrating, esp. when you're fighting birds.

I downloaded Batman: The Telltale Series since its free. It's pretty good, I like the graphic style as per usual with Telltale games, but this may be my least favorite of the three i've played.

Fallout 4 might be the only game that gives me the option where I choose to play in third person. Not sure why, but it feels so great.

If you like third person shooters I'd consider keeping it, otherwise you might as well sell it if you don't like Mass Effect @aspeedomodel
