the true story of why i quit witcher 3: i lost my glasses last January, have been way too lazy to replace them (v low rx just for distance so it's not usually a big deal), and the text is too fucking small to play without them lol

 

Imagine Witcher III, but like 10 hours shorter, dang

 

Instead of replacing them with $100 glasses, just spend $1200 on a bigger TV. Problem solved.

 

yeah i never understand why games don't have larger subtitles, i guess they don't want them too overbearing. but still, some people like to always read along incase they miss something, not just for the visually impaired.

 

now this is why i'm on the internet!

idc about subtitles, but all text from menus to hud to quest/lore is so small

haha it's very surprising to me that it wasn't addressed in a patch by adding an adjustment setting. it was one of the big gripes about the game and cdpr were awesome and handled pretty much all other complaints.

I'm all about subtitles too, more so now that I have a kid. When he's sleeping, I tend to play at a much lower volume so they come in handy.

My 19-year old brother in law had to stay with us last week, and I felt bad cause there really is nothing in my house for him to do (he's always on his computer at his house and has no consoles), so I was like, uh, I have a PS4 but all these games are kind of story driven. But then as I was scrolling I found RL. I was like, OH NO, you're playing this. He was up til like 3AM playing it. So fucking good.

 

Uh no, I blocked you because I got tired of constantly arguing with you about Ubisoft games. It got to a point where I felt it was unfair to everyone else to have to read that shit and I was done dealing with it so I blocked you so there would be no more of that. I could care less about EA, I didn’t even buy a single title of theirs last year. I was excited about Battlefront but I ended up not even buying it in the end. So there you go. Was it petty that I did it? Yes but I’m willing to admit and move on.

Cool, if Colby is one of the nicest people around he would also be able to address me directly or quote me instead of constantly be passive aggressive then. You don't solve things by talking past/through others. It's not like we don't notice it. Ok? I don't want to keep going in circles but since you posted, I felt the need to address it. Thanks. I've had ample conversations and other situations solved just fine because of direct communication.

Yup, we've been having a good discussion so far. Finally made it through all of Giant Bombs GOTY awards, except actual GOTY, listening to it now. I can't believe it's 5 hours long.

 

It goes in circles at some point because people, most notably Abby and Alex, can't agree about the quality of a game

 

After 10 hours and talking to 4 people, nobody helped and I had to do more of my own troubleshooting, and finally I got the order through;-; I got ts4, cats and dogs, and City living, for $44

THERE WAS THREE HOURS LEFT ON THE SALE. There wouldn't have been any other time I would have been able to do this lol

 

This is probably the worst GOTY they've done. I don't know if it's because there is too many people, or what. But Best World was a nightmare. Abby kind of sucked, she just said 'I like it.' and 'It's good.' as her only defense. Alex is always a turd and my least favorite Bomber.

 

colby wasn't passive agressive, colby was annoyed that the same things that have been complained about ad nauseam happened again.

 

Abby is fine, but a bad critic (which isn't what she was hired for to be fair, though she acts like it sometimes, which is fine I guess, I'm not the boss). I like Alex because he's a day one and all and I'm glad he's around, but he's also a bad critic I think. Yet they're the ones doing most of the talking. They did some good during these deliberations, but most of their contributions weren't very insightful or sharp.

I definitely think the main problem was too many people on the podcast though.

 

Keep her behind the camera like Jan, cause man - she was just annoying on this GOTY event.
