Just got Nier Automata this week an I’m about 4 hours in. Idk where this game’s story is gonna end up but I’m super interested to find out. Gameplay is great as well. Reminds me of PS2 era Devil May Cry.

 

Got a switch today as an early Christmas present!! Playing mario odyssey so far and I’m super into it

 

Beat MGSV and I have more questions than answers

 

Just spent all day yesterday Christmas shopping, and now the Steam Winter Sale drops. Anyone play Pyre? Heard it’s real good but I’m wondering how deep the gameplay is.

 

Yeah most of the missions in frozen wilds is recommended like 35 as the lowest. Further you get along it moves into the 40s.

Xenoblade Chronicles is one of the best JRPGs I have ever played. It fixes so many of the lingering problems that other games leave in, especially the Final Fantasy series. It is hard to believe that this came out on the Wii while Final Fantasy XIII was so limited on a much more powerful system.

 

I am constantly amazed by how many people want to forfeit when they go down by just 2 goals. Like do these people just roll over any time they’re challenged with anything IRL?

 

Debating upgrading to an One X. Have an appropriate TV to take advantage of the graphical upgrades. Beyond that, does anyone here who owns one have opinions on it?

 

I get my Switch in 3 days!!! Bought a used copy of Breath of the Wild, and it should be here tomorrow. I'm so excited for my first Zelda experience!

 

I love it even though I have a 1080p TV, mostly because I want my games to be as non-blurry as possible because blurry games on a big TV make my eyes feel weird. Every game that takes advantage of the One X looks incredibly sharp.

 

my sister who has a switch said i could borrow it so i can play odyssey but apparently she just got to mushroom kingdom so she "can't" for the time being. siblings are the worst. guess i can finish frozen wilds anyways.

 

also i just got an XB1 and if anyone wants to play battlefield 1 lmk

Most Switch people here will probably kill me for saying this but I didn't love Odyssey. Maybe my expectations were just too high after BotW idk

 

Same. It was still like, good. Just not botw good.

 

Some would say Zelda needed reinvention (though some again would say it has never been stale on handheld) and a Mario 64-like is still perfect

 

Hard to argue with that.

 

I still get urges to buy a 64 again because Mario 64.

 

I hope they make galaxy 2 bc on switch, I missed out on yoshi planet hopping action

 

I’m the opposite and will also be killed for it. I loved Odyssey and was bored to tears with BotW

 

they are both my two favorite games of the year, but odyssey is in a clear lead as #1

 

Yep still a really good game. I think I wish they'd released them the other way around. Mario on launch and then BotW in October.

 

also, i've been playing around with N64 emulation, and man, it's a whole new world. booted up Mario Party 3 and it looks like a different game. the menu has a bit of a pop-up book look to it, and upscaled that aesthetic looks so damn good - clean lines, minimal jaggies, etc.

can't wait to see if Paper Mario achieves the same effect

 

They probably considered that but they had to get Zelda out on WiiU too

 

Ah that's a good point. I actually forgot that released it on Wii U lol
