I tried playing Dead Space 2 on that hardest mode where if you die the game is over, and I died on the first fucking necromorph in the tutorial.

Better to get out of the way earlier than later right?

I played on the highest difficultyand made it to the raptor looking necromorphs, holy hell that was rough.

I played the game on normal and then going up to hardcore mode was nuts. I went down to zealot mode and still couldn't kill a damn thing lol.

LMAO!!! Those games are on my wish list to be remastered for the ONE/PS4. I would 100% them all over again.

I never played 3. I heard it went way too far with microtransaction and a focus on action. I'd love to play 1 and 2 again.

3 was bad. 1 and 2 remain some of my favorite games in the Survival-horror genre. (Played through one four times and two three times)

I never played 2 but 1 was excellent survival horror. Thought it was rock hard on normal.

2 is pretty much the Aliens of the series, more actiony but just as good

I would never call it bad because there were far worse games out there at the time. To truly experience three you had to play as the COOP character, John Carver. It was really cool how if you played as him you would start to hallucinate with seeing and hearing things while Issac was seeing nothing.
Dead Space 2 was very good and showed just how messed up Issac became from the first game.

They are very challenging games indeed and are sort of the Dark Souls of survival horror.

That's fair, taken in isolation it's probably an okay game. But compared to DS1 and 2 it was super disappointing for me, though yeah having someone to play coop with would probably help.

I think the issue with it is, that with each game, they got further away from that feeling of isolation and the survival horror. They went more in the direction of a psychological thriller.

2 was a good middle ground, but yeah 3 lost any and all pretension of being a horror game.

DS is a prime example of EA executive meddling, 3 in particular is the most glaring example of it.

It's a shame we probably won't see another DS game in the series, it had a great lore to it, great gameplay mechanics, and was on it's way to being a Resident Evil killer until EA decided to fuck with a good thing.

Just saw some gameplay of Nioh and it looks so much like Dark Souls it's not even funny.

I might go, depending on how busy I am. Lately I've been too buried, but I would like to see it for sure.

I have hope that someone will pick it up and give us a new one. If you think about it, it is possible because EA did make the first game backwards compatible. Fingers crossed!

Maybe he'll be a playable character or NPC and just stand there and talk to Drake
I'd like to but it's hard with a little one who is a few months too young.

Does anybody know of any sort of suite that tracks games you're currently playing/want to play and whatnot? Basically a GoodReads for gaming.

There is a pretty intensive backlog site someone on AP recommended to me. I made an account and got too overwhelmed by the process...

can't remember the name though, let me do some searching.
