Played like two hours of tew2. Pretty good. I regret playing on casual, as it's too easy

Interesting moves going on. Wonder how this would impact free to play MOBAs though, some of them rely very heavily on people buying loot boxes to keep going. Maybe if there was a limit on the amount you could buy a day but that’s a slippery slope.

They'll find ways around it like they do in China but stuff like this could lead to less loot boxes and more regular microtransactions

Yeah I can see that. I remember loads of games (some still do) always had microtransactions for cosmetics but you knew what you were paying for at least. It'd be nice if all triple A games started to do that because most people will honestly have no problem with that at all.

Season passes also feel like another form of gambling too. I guess it's not so bad if you're getting what you actually paid for but if people who pre-purchase a game with season pass, they don't know what maps they're getting a lot of the time until a trailer drops for them. Argument sounds better in my head but oh well

  9. Nah, you’re right. Plus there’s a reason you shouldn’t give money to corporations in advance. They’re only selling those season passes so they have more income sooner so they can flip your money to make even more money. It’s kind of unfair.

that really depends on what kind of season pass it is, also the content is never random or duplicate

  11. it's not random, but you usually have no idea what you're buying exactly.

That depends on the seasons pass. In many cases all you buy is some extra story missions ot whatever which you will be able to buy separately for more slightly more money, in case you're not interested in one of the three or whatever

  13. remember when they said there's gonna be a raid in every expansion in the destiny season pass and then house of wolves just had some bullshit side activity?

    like that.

You can also buy season passes later on when the content is actually out. It's not the same thing at all.

  15. well yeah we're saying you shouldn't buy them in advance. if you buy them knowing what they contain you good.

Right but with loot boxes that is never the case, so unlike those a season pass is not "gambling". That's like saying buying a game you haven't read a review of is gambling.

Most of the times with games though, you'll buy them based on gameplay you've seen.

I buy games partly based on selected people's opinions but mostly based on me knowing what I like and don't like and which developers/publishers I trust and don't trust after 20 years of playing

That's like saying me buying AC Origins is gambling because I can't say that I will definitely like it.
