How is South Park? I loved The Stick Of Truth but really trying to tighten my spending leading up to Christmas/also dying for a new game.

 

I’ve only played a bit, but I’d call it an improvement in every way

But yes, you took the words right out of my mouth. I love completing everything in the game, but once it becomes a chore, I won't even think about it. The new Mario requires a ton of coins to unlock every little costume, but I've almost gotten everything and I haven't even found every secret yet. Battlefront is trying to make you get so frustrated that you stop having fun and just spend your own money.

As I said before, I think I will still buy it because I love playing for an hour or two after work sometimes but no way are they getting any additional money out of me for the unlockables.

 

I’m still on the fence with South Park only because I loved the combat in TSoT so hearing they changed it is weird. Also I’m playing like five different games right now lol

 

They haven't really changed it that much, they've just made it a little more tactical and want you to have to worry about placement of you/your allies in regards to the enemy/enemies. The story itself isn't as strong as the first but the combat and UI is better than the first imo

 

Yeah that whole SWB situation just sounds like grinding to make up for the lack of depth there is going to be in MP, in hopes you either actually play so much your head explodes or you just buy loot boxes lol

 

and thats just at launch! Theyll add a looooooot more to the game in time.

 

i just hope there isn't another bit in South Park equivalent to Al Gore messaging you for 6 hours of the game. it was hilarious, but please not again lol

There's the one gag that has been running throughout my playthrough so far, part of the story... I don't know how often they are gonna keep bringing it up but it just feels beaten to death already

 

On a more positive subject than EA, South Park is excellent and really does improve on the first one by a lot. The combat is actually way better with the tactical element involved, and the ability to mix and match superhero powers to create your own OP hero is pretty awesome plus fits rights in with the “little kids playing pretend” theme of the two games. Plus it’s hilarious and has a ton of great fan service thrown in. Highly recommend, probably my third favorite game of the year behind Zelda and Mario.

Nah, that hasn't been annoying yet. It's to do with your origin story

Its probably going to be a GTA type game, where you pay for gas with real money.

 

Nah, fuck that. When people are getting death threats over a fucking Star Wars game, it's gone entirely too far. I don't care about the interests of multi-million dollar corporations but there's nothing appropriate about threatening to kill someone over how expensive a fucking video game is.

 

Remember when people said that all E.A. has to do is make games like a new Mirror's Edge and then nobody bought them because most people don't actually buy most games anymore despite what they say on the internet

 

how excited are you to buy feedbags for your horse with real money in Red Dead Redemption 2

 

doesn't help that the game was subpar, barely marketed, dropped in the middle of summer

 

I think anyone who indulges in that behaviour of any kind like that deserves criminal punishment, we can all agree on that.

But the issue does deserve to be spoken up about. Of course this is the internet and people take things way too seriously over a fucking game.

People do deserve to be heard, as long as their criticisms are directed to the problems behind the game and not to the people behind them.

 

EA are going too far with microtransactions and gamers are going too far in showing their dissatisfaction.

People suck.
