Finished Uncharted: Lost Legacy today and fucking loved every second of it. I was firmly in the no-more-Uncharted camp after 4 even though it's probably my favorite series, but I am now fully onboard with Chloe and Nadine being the new main characters. Would love a full-length game, even though this definitely felt like one anyway. Would have gladly paid $60 for this

Damn that's a depressing read. "does the business case for narrative-driven single-player titles still add up?" - Its always a goddamn "business case" isn't it :verysad: I've always been drawn to strong narrative single-player games like Halo, Half-Life and the MGS series (don't fwm if you think MGS 'aint strong  lol) but every once in a while I admittedly will become obsessed with a multiplayer game - e.g. The Last of Us Remastered. That multiplayer was a tacked-on afterthought to one of the best story modes in gaming history and was awful by almost any standard, yet I sunk hundreds of hours into just one of it's multiplayer modes.

It shows you do not have to sacrifice a good story in favour of throwing money at multiplayer - a simple & effective multiplayer will still keep players interested (and likely to spend $/£ on DLC).

They tried and failed in the 360 era, most tacked on multiplayer modes haven't gained any traction. Mass Effect 3 and The Last Of Us are two prominent exceptions to the rule.

And yeah it's a business case. What they're doing now is only a temporary fix though because obviously most of those service games won't actually do well either, the market is already crowded.

Currently playing Outlast and really not sure if I'm enjoying it or just trudging through it because it's halloween... I kinda liked the idea of being helpless and not being able to fight, but hiding in lockers and under beds gets old pretty quickly.

I feel I made the wrong decision when I had this weighed up against The Last of Us and Deadlight...

That's awful! Cannot imagine having to work an 80-100 hour week.

For those who might be interested, Resetera announced they're opening registration for all this morning. Still hasn't opened from where I'm sitting, but they posted that at 3AM last night, so hoping soon!

On the Mario front, I convinced myself I was gonna sell stuff and buy a copy today, but when all my friends (who typically say BUY THIS NEW GAME) are like "yo...uh...that backlog you have...might wanna take care of that" I think I'm gonna hold off.

Guess that means I'll finally beat some of these damn games (BotW, FFXV, and P5, I'm looking at you!!)

Most of the Origins reviews are positive, even on steam which is a pleasant surprise. That’s good enough for me, let’s go.

I've gotta kick it into high gear and finish Syndicate soon. That way I'll have time for both Origins and BFII.

I got to chapter 10 last night in ffxv, so I think I’m entering the relatively end stretch? I just had the battle with Leviathan. Does anyone know roughly how much I have left?

Maybe ten hours? That last stretch felt like FOREVER. Haven't played with the patch though.

Fair enough haha. I’ve played I think for ~45 hours grinding and doing as many side quests as I could and last night I was just like I’m over this and proceeded on. Hopefully that doesn’t come back to get me
