It didn’t for me either but I think it’s more dense than Errorzone. Listened a few times and now I love it.

For me it’s pretty on par with Errorzone but yeah.. this definitely needed more samples.

The drum sound on this album is amazing. Putney is on fire right now.

Putney is becoming one of my favorite heavy producers alongside Kurt and Taylor.

Putney is absolutely my top heavy producer at this point. He’s just the best at what he does.

Wasn’t huge on Non Fiction when it dropped but now I love it juxtaposed with all the short chaotic songs.

Non Fiction definitely works better in context of the whole record flow.

Also, I know it’s been said but Magazine Beach… absolute fire in the booth.

He is extremely talented and very humble. It is a cool story what happened with him and FFAA when he started getting bigger. He essentially offered to leave and they all said hell no and hired a new lead guitarist so he wouldn’t have to focus on writing as much. That’s love right there.

in the Errorzone thread i described a song they played at a show in December as "cracked". that song was Hellnight

    Recently?
He is a member of Gods Hate, Twitching Tongues and formerly of Nails but production wise:
    Drain
    Age of Apocalypse
    Vamachara
    Slow bleed
    Dead Heat
    Regional Justice Center
    Militarie Gun

    And so many more…

He is currently working on a secret project for a pretty big hardcore band and also the new Suicide Silence.

Now I’m just thinking about Putney playing in FATA and it’s glorious.

i wrote a review of the album. i said it’s my favorite of the genre in some time. hardly disavowing it. acting like it isn’t appropriate to discuss them punching a female fan and blocking everyone online who calls them out on it bc, what, they’re a heavy band? is extremely fucking weird. if anyone pulled this for an emo band they would get run off this site.

  18. If they were the only band involved in this debacle, yeah. But we don’t know who did what, and the details of what exactly happened are also blurry. So I think this is a little different of a situation. However, them blocking people who ask about it is definitely shady and isn’t making anything any more clear or better.

I mean they could be transparent about the incident instead of letting rumors grow if they are truly innocent and have nothing to hide. Blocking people/refusing to acknowledge the rumors definitely isn’t a good look and can lead one to think this is the same old BS when people use “it’s the hardcore” as an excuse to be a meathead asshole.

The bottom line is that there are rumors of kids and women being assaulted amidst a tour that Vein put on and they have absolutely nothing to say about it, not even when the band they hired to open made light of it. They’re being extremely sus at best. Most artists discussed on Chorus would be ripped the fuck apart over that. Not saying that’s what should happen but it is definitely an extremely weird look to be acting like this all just being blown out of proportion or whatever, especially if your mental gymnastics have anything to do with “that’s hardcore, baby”

All that said, Turnstile have deleted the tweet that called Vein out and Touché have kept them on the tour. Dunno if that’s a sign of more toxic hardcore culture or if it’s a sign this is all a nothing situation that Vein are trying their hardest not to become a Notes App Apology band over, but it’s worth noting

are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

That tweet that was posted here was from some account with 600 followers that had Turnstile as its display name and not the actual Turnstile.

I saw a post on the No Echo Facebook group from someone who's a contributor to the sight saying they talked to the vocalist from Vein who said that the Albuquerque kids kept escalating the situation with them and the Momentum vocalist only responded in kind when someone said, "Someone get the gat." Again, still a secondhand account of hearsay, but the overall ambiguity of the situation explains why they aren't being raked over the coals for it.

Like I said in the tour forum when this was brought up, you're not going to get a statement because they probably don't think it's worth anything to address and life is going to continue on here for better or worse.

Ah, gotcha. Thought that was pretty bold but that makes a lot more sense haha

You’re probably spot on here and that is exactly the problem

  23. This isn’t grabbing me as quickly as Errorzone but I’m gonna keep at it this week.

  24. First impressions were that this is a great follow-up album to Errorzone, but that the clean vocals didn't always mesh with their style well and took me out of it.

I can see that but personally my fav parts on Errorzone were when he transitioned to cleans and it works here even more
