watching Moulin Rouge for the first time in forever, Nicole and Ewan are so hot but there is so much going on and so many songs I feel like I need a nap

 

I thought maybe. But given how little they’ve done to care so far I don’t see it happening. Plus Ian is right.

 

Is it weird that I love the songs from the movie but have never seen it

 

Update on Tampa protests is that I guess it turned into some rioting and looting so right on

but also the fact that Tampa’s mayor, a former police chief, was out protesting is pretty rad

I feel guilty that why people were out protesting and putting their lives on the line I spent the day hanging out at my parents pool drinking beer. And I feel guilty that I didn't hesitate to spend $40 on snorkels for me and Aeryn on a whim, but it took seeing several other people donate to convince me to do the same. Just feel kinda useless.

 

I know you care, I think donating out of guilt is still donating and I don't think you're being selfish

 

I’ve felt the same way a lot this week. Nothing has changed about my personal circumstances staying at home but it’s harder than ever to be isolated when everyone else is out there and needs help. I’ve just been trying to stay as informed as I can and give what I can to different groups. I’ve found some more local pages and groups to follow as well and that’s been helpful.

 

I've been tempted just to ignore current events lately but it felt reprehensible to do that in this case

 

Yeah please resist the temptation to put your head in the sand

I know not everyone can be ~out there~ but donating is good too and spreading awareness as well as having uncomfortable talks to confront people in your life’s racism

I’m doing my best to stay current and yet not let it totally overwhelm me because anxiety has really fucked me up mentally and physically and I’m trying to fix that.
