Hahaha are we the same person? Every time I change my pedalboards up I have before and after pics. Glad to see I’m not a total psycho.

fortunately i have resisted the pedalboard rabbit hole thus far ha. all ive got is a built in reverb in my amp, a delay, a chorus, and a tuner. so its low stress trying to experiement w the chain order.

    Gimme it.

Also congrats on your Chinese food. My local place opened back up recently and I’m really hoping they offer contactless delivery now so I can get a huge order.

I hate to be encouraging it but like. Trust me. Once you get dedicated pedals for those effects you’re never going to turn back. The extra control and features just. Yes.

The only exception in this rule is real spring reverb on amps because that stuff is pretty af.

Honestly though it’s all part of the fun ph*cking with the chain order and making everything perfect to your liking. The problem is when you’re a sucker for the aesthetic™️ like me. And when you start being elitist over what brand of pedals you get.

for sure man. i get it completely since its just another way to hunt for new sounds. the only thing stopping me from indulging more is just that i dont like having to bend down to my board to tinker w them to get what i want. i just want to plug in and go ha. that said in the last couple years ive really gotten more in the habit of fucking w my guitars tone and volume controls more. it only took me like 10 years of strumming punk songs to figure out those knobs did shit lol

Funny you say that. Her Instagram video was what prompted me to look at guitars today

Have it set up on a desk or small table in front of you! If you’re not in the business of just exploring and tinkering like I am, you’ll no doubt find settings on each you end up just leaving on all the time anyway. In which case all you’re doing at that point is just hitting the footswitch (with your foot).

And haha yeah, exactly the same. So many crazy swells and eq filter-kinda tricks you can do with just the knobs alone. Saw a That Pedal Show episode on this not long back and it amazed me.

yea ive seen that done on pedal demos thats definitely the way. i will say i know eventually i want a more intense chorus then i have now, a wah, and an octave pedal. will probably get the octave before anything else.

    I had a guitar once
Think it was one of those fender squire strats

I genuinely never played it but it was so pretty and I took MySpace photos with it sometimes

I wish I had learned to play

edit: amendment: I had an acoustic guitar since I was young that I played around with and enjoyed and even tho I didn’t know how to play I still “wrote songs” on it and could play a few stereotypical jams (Adams song what up lol)
but when I got all into emo or whatever I ofc wanted an electric guitar

Squire jazzmaster + Vox AC15 + big muff distortion + MTR carbon copy delay and you’re set for life pretty much.

You’re forgetting chorus. And reverb. And flanger. And other types of delay. And tremolo. And vibrato. Oh god I need help.

the way i see its never too late to pick up an instrument i see ppl posting online about getting their 1st guitar in their 40-50s all the time which low key is kind of heart warming imo since it always seems like society tries to discourage adults from having hobbies.

im thinking about picking up the harmonica just so i can play jail blues riffs lmao
