I went to a Bucee’s for the first time last week and it was hell on earth. Overcrowded and chaotic. Gas stations don’t need to be a one stop shop. Also the bbq was fine, but not worthy of some cult following.

I think it’s like how my generation thought it was cool to be a big fan of Spam.

Spam is good though. Bucees is symbolic of the absolute unnecessary and overbearing weight of capitalism. Everything is about consumerism, all the time. Go shit, get gas, a BBQ brisket, a bucees onesie and some dishware.

Buc-cee's is amazing, enough slander. Clean bathroom, private stalls. brisket/bbq sandwhiches are excellent quality. it's a great quick stop for gifts. It's over the top but i'm all about it. And hey, i mean, they do pay their employees pretty decently.

I think a little silliness in this country isn't a bad thing.

Being able to shit in a clean bathroom, get gas and a good sandwich sounds great to me. But I’ve never been to a buc-cees. We mostly have Sheetz around here and the bathrooms usually look like a bomb went off and the food is whatever.

In the Great War of the Gas Stations, the Buccees were known for being wild, totally unhinged. They fought bitterly with the more organized, militaristic WaWaians for wealth and power.

  9. We don't have Sheetz, WaWa, or Buc-ee's in Illinois as far as I know. There's a Casey's in every small town, but they're basically just gas stations/convenience stores, and I've never met a Casey's zealot.

People in Missouri swear by their pizza and I tell them it must be the only pizza they've ever had. It's not good and it's surprisingly expensive by the slice.

In the great gas station debate, I contend that Wally's is better than Bucee's, mainly because it looks like a carnival and has great food.

I think I passed one of those on my way back from St. Louis last month but didn't stop

  15. There's a fairly new, nice Wally's between Chicago and Bloomington that I stop at pretty often but I've never actually eaten their food.

None of these places exist in California. I literally just go to the pump, fill my gas and leave lol

The best gas station we have around here is Cumberland Farms and it is in no way close to the scale of a WaWa or Bucees. I'm jealous.

Wawa and quickcheck are essentially the same thing and its one of the biggest things I miss most about not living in the northeast anymore. 24/7, semi decent fast food level sandwiches is a luxury i didnt know I had until i didnt have it anymore. For the most part, pretty clean too. Sheetz is a good substitute once you get into central pa, Ohio, Virginia, Maryland.

Cumberland farms of the upper New england/NY area and Caseys of Illinois are very similar. Just different branding 7/11s, but I like Caseys unique sodas at least.

For a national brand, Qt is very consistent on cleanliness and snack/drink options for such a large scale

Circle K, kum and go, and 7/11 are both trash and im surprised they haven't considered a major renovation yet, especially 7/11.

And yes, thats what makes Bucees the legend it is because it's truly the most unique one of them all.

If people gossip about it at the next social event, just tell them you were trying to ingratiate yourself among the commoners to curry their favor.
