  1. This rips! It kinda gives me old Solid State/Tooth & Nail metalcore stuff mixed with slight nu metal vibes. Regarding the latter, the guitar work somehow sounds different for them too.

I fucking LOVE this. I’m so stoked they’re going in this direction. Sounds like a follow up to LITSOS.

yeah LITSOS is the first thing I thought of too, which is good, since it's undeniably the best UO album.

This song is fucking great. Hoping the rest of the albums like this. I liked hearing On My Teeth on first listen but then hated most if the rest of the album as it wasn't anything like that lol

Do we know the production team for this LP?

It sounds like LITS meets Disambiguation which is gnarly since those are their top two LPs.

From this tweet, it looks like they may have all been in the studio to a certain extent for the recording which seems encouraging

it always seemed weird to me that it was just Spencer, Tim, Chris, and Aaron last time. I get since they are the main songwriters in the band, but it’s good to see that James/Grant might have had more say in this

I remember seeing either Instagram posts or stories from someone in the band and it almost looked like they were working on it themselves or demo-ing themselves with one of the guys that’s in their touring crew. Could be wrong though

According to this article - “Damn Excuses” was completely self-recorded and produced at guitarist Tim McTague’s studio, Feral Sound, in Tampa, Florida.

I had a feeling this would be self produced..

I’m kinda surprised, I figured they would go with Squire again
