An unfuckwithable riff really - plus that breakdown

 

kinda bummed daniel doesn’t seem to be in a band anymore - dude was the best drummer in the scene

 

Man I’m gonna fuck around tonight and write something about under oath’s importance and why they should be remembered way more fondly in our scene

 

The sludge influence is what knocks disambiguation down a bit for me. I mean, I love it, and obviously my tastes are not a measure of quality, but idk how one can listen to songs like The Created Void and not think that is the key to immortality

Also, makes me smile to see this thread so active

 

The Created Void is an insanely underrated gem.

 

he was fucking incredible on low teens but he left that band too i hope he does something with another band

 

it took me years to come around on it but yeah

 

When I first heard the album I thought of Alice In Chains because I didn’t know straight-up sludge metal and they were my main exposure to that type of sound lol

 

alice in chains are super influential to the genre so that makes total sense

 

im pretty sure obrother are just trying to make dark alice in chains records

 

I would read

 

breathing in a new mentality and we are the involuntary are the litsos standouts imo

 

a looking in view from the reunion alice in chains album might legit be one of the best sludge songs of all time

 

45 minutes until the single possibly shows up on Spotify

the entire front half just rips

 

It’s still crazy (awesome) to me that the best Underoath album featured zero OG members

 

the front half of litsos was the blueprint they used for disambiguation and just took it to an even heavier yet more atmospheric extreme

 

That song is a good example of how Aaron can sing and Spencer can both sing and scream in a non pop punk-like tradeoff. They don’t need Aaron to be good but them playing off each other is bliss.

 

Emergency Broadcast, We Are The Involuntary, and The Created Void are my top 3

 

So I’m definitely gonna write like 2000 word review on this record in April huh?

 

the opening verse is a little too poppy for the song which is why it took me a while to really get into it but past that part the song is great

 

i also think the lyrics are weak as fuck on the created void and i think thats a completely overlooked aspect of disambiguation that spencer not only improved on but highlighted just how much better of a writer he is than aaron

 

I’m so glad I had a 4 hour flight today - was able to listen to all four albums in order


I am so hyped

 

i just threw on disambiguation, the back half of this album is so relentlessly heavy its almost exhausting, in a good way. a divine eradication up until in completion is just unrelenting and hardly slows down. then in completion brings things to a halt only to build back into the perfect finale for the album. in completion is, if i had to pick, my number one favorite underoath song.
