Release My Mind, My Garden Grows

Finally got to see these guys over the weekend in Lowell for the first time ever. I wish it had been a headliner for them so it could have been more than 11 songs but was still a really good set

Did they only play songs from TOCS and DTGL?

They did mostly DTGL with 5 songs off it, 3 from TOCS (Boy Brushed Red, Reinventing, Dangerous Business), 2 from LITSOS (Emergency Broadcast & Breathing in a New Mentality), and 1 from Disambiguation (Illuminator). A more even spread would have been cool and I mostly mean I would have prefered more LITSOS, personally.

It's cool that they at least played something from Disambiguation, though I'm afraid of that album not getting much attention now

Next Show - Foals April 22nd

Nope, songs from every record. I was at the Montreal date but the setlist has been the same for the whole tour.

Pretty cool to see some other stuff thrown in. One of my favorite bands, I really hope they make another record one day. Doesn't need to reinvent the wheel just writing something that rocks hard

I was thinking about it after the show how badly I want new music from them. I think if we do get it, it won't be until at least next year and thats mostly just wishful thinking and I'm not getting my hopes up for anything. I have no doubts that they have it in them to write another fantastic record though.

    I do not exist.

Caught the Nottingham show of the European leg of the Rebirth tour last night. It was a great experience to hear two iconic albums played all the way through. The band seemed to be enjoying it and it was great to see them live after all these years (the last time I saw them was in 2010). Also, Spencer seemed adamant that they would return to the UK for another tour next year...

Want a new album bad. Imagine their progression from Disambiguation but with Aaron back in the mix now...

If we do get a new album, I hope it picks up where Lost in The Sound of Separation left off. That album was fire, and is also responsible for my username.

I can't imagine what that progression would be like because I much prefer Spencer's clean vocals to Aaron's and Daniel's drumming more than I do Aaron's.

With the way they came back, playing Safety/Define back to back, then the BMTH tour playing mainly songs from those albums as well, I almost feel like new material will be them trying to retrace that "magic" they had during that timeframe. I don't necessarily agree with that idea, but it does make sense.

Whatever they end up doing, I just hope it sounds like a new underoath album and is enjoyable for me to hear.

With the amount of touring they've managed in the past year I'd be surprised to not get something. I mean, what a 180 from "ok we managed to get enough time off to do some rebirth dates." This is full time band level activity.

Just build on lost on sound and separation that record is perfect

I'm also hoping for a LITSOS 10 year tour next year. I had to skip out on the TACS + DTGL tour because of financial reasons but i think i'd sell all my useless organs to afford a LITSOS 10 year show.

My hair stylist was wearing an Underoath shirt and we were talking about the band. I didn't go to their recent show but she said they were supporting BMTH and not the other way around? And that a lot of people at the show didn't know them. Both of those things seem implausible

Yeah BMTH are 'bigger' than UO, seemingly in the US as well as the UK. The reunion shows over here did not sell anywhere near as quickly as I thought they would..

    The spiciest meme

Yea I went to the BMTH show like 80% for UO, I do actually like BMTH but UO is UO. Decent amount of people got going for them which made me happy. They said they would play another NYC show next year which is cool they can actually state that. Also had gone to Rebirth tour earlier

I remember hearing a song or two a long time ago (BMTH) and didn't like it. Haven't revisited since.
